Cee-Lo's Song is on Repeat in My Mind

I woke up this morning hoping it was a bad dream.

Nope.

My husband was in the hall, at the computer, polishing his resume.

No job to go to this morning.

A sarcastic, non-sincere thank you to the economy is in order.

Ceel-Lo's lyrics come to mind.

The original version.

It's been a shitty week.

My heart pounding in my chest as my husband told me, "there's just no work."

Guilt floods me.

I've stayed home for 12 years to raise our children.

He's worked his ass off for 14 so we could make it on one income.

It's a slap in the face.

What can I do?

Teaching is a joke in this state now.

I'll continue to plug away at blogging to bring in the little bit I can.

I'm trying to take the positive route.

People are saying, "it'll get better."

"This will open bigger doors."

"It's in the plan."

Maybe I'll believe that in a week or two.

Today, I believe it to be a big crock of crap.

Grieving process.

    CRAP!

I'm losing my breath just thinking about this Jen. I'm so sorry.

Found you through JayB2B on Twitter.

I am so sorry you are going through this - we went through this when I lost my job last year and it sucks (I am the primary bread winner in our family)!! It does get better, you will find ways to cope and move forward. But yeah...it does suck....and you are totally allowed to be scared, pissed, angry, frustrated, sad....and whatever else you want!!

Also be sure to check into your state programs for help - depending on your situation and your state you may qualify for several programs that can assist your family while you try to get back on your feet (State health insurance and the WIC program saved us last year while we struggled)

    HUGE {{{HUGS}}}!!

    Liz

    Thinking of you,

    Jay

This is horrible. I feel so much for you. IT does seem like the economy is handing everyone great big piles of steaming poo.

I'm sending positive job vibes his direction. I'm rooting for you.

    Well that just sucks.
Two years ago, my husband lost his job and it took a month, but he found a job that was better in every way (hours, pay, benefits, not having to be on-call, etc....). I wish the same for your family !

I feel for you. My husband lost his job three years ago and had to switch fields. The economy blows, no doubt about it. Hang in there.

Oh man, I'm so sorry. We've been there, as most people have probably in this lovely economy of ours. I know how you feel. People just try to make you feel better and know they care but you just want to scream 'shut the hell up.' Hoping things get better.

I'm sorry. I hope in the time that has passed since you wrote this, hope has entered the picture.

As my late daughter used to say:
Breathe in the light, and blow out the darkness.

I can't imagine how scared you must be right now.
