Talk in the Batman Voice
I had never seen the television show, but who can miss a Steve Carell movie? Get Smart was funny and Anne Hathaway is a beauty. Worth the time.
Saw this with my girls. The music was fantastic, the soundtrack's a must. Just wanted to get up and dance all movie. Pierce Brosnan...kinda stinky singer, though. I'd see it again even with my little Dancing Queen herself, she's becoming an ABBA fan, woot!
So not typical Steve Carell but I wanted to try it. I felt like I was sad the entire movie. The daughter who had the boyfriend was stressing me out because she was such a typical teenager and I admit she scared me having 2 girls of my own. Dane Cook was okay, not great. This was the first Juliet Binoche movie i've seen, she is a great actress. The music was pretty cool too.
Typical Adam Sandler movie, although he actually worked out for this one and looked good. Don't laugh, Hubs and I liked the movie. Don't ask Ro though, she HATED it. ;)

Thanks for the reviews.

I really want to see Get Smart! I loved Dan in Real Life, but you're totally right, it is sad sad sad most of the movie. I just LOVE his humor. I'm hoping to catch a movie this weekend. Hopefully Dark Knight.

OMG. I am so mad. Not at you. Myself. I wrote out a big longazz comment, and then hit some button on the keyboard...and *poof* away it went. Gone forever. Fabulous. I don't have the patience to re-type, so I guess I'll just quit whining and say that I've seen all of those except for Zohan and loved them all ;)
There. Damn computer.

ha ha you did a movie review of the batman. i just did one not long ago on http://ciarasramblingsandwhatnot.blogspot.com
but whereas you thought the movie was a bit too dark for your kids, i didn't think it was too dark. the whole family went, and i thought my 9 yr old was going to freak. she didn't. everyone enjoyed the movie. mini-me, she's 11, loved batman's gadgets and the joker.
mammia mia-well you know how much i loved that movie! my girls loved it, too.
saw zohan and thought that was hilarious. it was one adam sandler movie i could tolerate outside of the wedding singer.
saw dan in real life and i liked it, too! haven't seen get smart though.

Christian Bales - American Psycho - embedded forever in my mind. And take yourself to Sex and the City!
July 25, 2008 at 7:51 PM
I agree, Heath Ledger did a GREAT job in this role. I am going to see Mamma Mia tomorrow, I love ABBA music :)
July 25, 2008 at 7:52 PM
Is it wrong to hate Zohan even if I haven't seen it yet?
LOVE Steve Carell in anything!
July 25, 2008 at 7:57 PM
I SO wanna see MamaMia! I saw it in theatre, and I'm dying to see the movie now.
Dan in Real Life was weird...sad...I like Steve Carell better funny.

I really want to see Dark Knight! The best movie I have watched lately -not lately enough- was Into the Wild. Great movie, highly recommend!

Oh!!!
"Sunday Morning" is playing right now! I love it!!!!
O.K. The reason I was commenting... I do want to see Mama Mia. I think I might sing too loudly for the other viewers!
Hopefully my husband and I will sneak away, while leaving the girls with family, and see The Dark Knight tomorrow.
(I'm happy to see it, but it makes me sad too.)

Holy Movie Watcher! Man alive, girl! You are THE woman to come to for movie reviews!!!
Hubby & I are going to go & see Dark Knight on Tuesday night - not my usual type of movie either, but I've read so many rave reviews.
July 26, 2008 at 4:57 AM
I don't get to the 'movies' but thanks for those! Batman is definitely on my list should the Apocolypse occur and I'm able to get out- after Sex and the City, of course! I am an avid DVD watcher! I have always followed entertainment so closely, but time and money doesn't allow me to see them 'the way they should be seen'!
All ones I've been curious about- your movie going is making me jealous!!
I thought Dan in Real Life was just OK- I felt like I had already seen it in 'The Family Stone'- which I think I liked better!

I really want to go see the new Batman movie!!! LOL cant remember the last movie I saw on the big screen but this one I think I will make the effort!!!
July 26, 2008 at 12:37 PM
I haven't seen any of these yet, so I enjoyed the reviews! I want to see them all...
July 28, 2008 at 6:17 PM
Disliked the Dark Knight, to slow for me.
LOVED THE X-FILES, SEEN IT 3 TIMES SINCE FRIDAY!!!
Loved Get Smart, got to meet Steve about 2 months ago, such a genius! Plus I love how Anne Hathaway is like a real Anime woman, she's such a doll!
Mamma Mia, I liked but didn't love, I hate to watch regular actors sing, I don't know why. But I love Abba so bummer...
Zohan I took my mom and dad to see, I did not know in advance much about it, my dad looked a little shocked through the whole thing, but I love Sandler so a + for me.

I loved Batman. I am already trying to figure out the next installment. I do want to see Get Smart just because I am in the mood for a funny movie. I watched Dan in Real Life, but I felt kind of like you, sad. It just seemed like there was no pick me up. The girl with the boyfriend, she would have been told to get over it!

HOW DO YOU GET TO SEE SO MANY MOVIES?
I hate you....I mean, I love you... but Erik and I see, like, one movie a year in the theater. Unless it's rated G or PG. Then we see about 12 movies a year in the theater. The rest of the "grown-up" movies are viewed via DirecTV. Can you send your babysitter our way? PLEEEEZE?
