Boys Will Be Boys
Such a boy thing to do when you're camping.A big thanks to Uncle W for helping My Boy out.
Also notice the life jacket, even out of the water it was always on.
We'll call it his 'arrow-proof' jacket!

Watch out squirrels!

that's a great book!! ok, i haven't really read it, but we have the daring book for girls and i did skim through the boys one.
looks like your kiddo made a great bow & arrow (yay, uncle w!). my girls and i have yet to try something 'adventurous' out of their book.

tee hee....THAT is priceless! :) fun post!

Pretty crafty. That's great he just leaves his life jacket on! I don't worry quite as much if Otter keeps his on. My friend has trouble getting a life jacket on her daughter at all.

That is so cool! I love that book!

That looks like a lot of fun! And I think the arrow-proof jacket is a clever idea.
Is Uncle W. single? Just asking.

I so have nearly purchased that book a few times but the word dangerous put me off.
But now I see all this useful stuff they could learn.
Like if gas keeps going up and we can no longer afford food I could send my little ones out gathering food with their bows and arrows.
I'm off over to amazon.com right now!

My son loves that book! Though we have not tried the bow and arrow for obvious reasons!! ha ha

That is so much fun! I think he is wearing the vest to protect himself from the return fire. You never know when you may come across a group of Indians in those woods!! We have the book, but I'm a terrible mom and haven't even looked through it yet!!

Thats so cute. I have seen the dangerous book for girls and thought about that for Lily. Does your daughter have that?
I think Alice and I have a smilar mind..Uncle W is HOT! hee hee!

I got that book and the one for girls for my kids a couple of Christmases ago. I think they were more for me than them, but they are great books. My Boy looks the very image of a hardy, outdoorsman.

I'm so getting my nephew that book when he's a little older!
It looks like he did a great job with his bow and arrow, too!
August 9, 2008 at 3:32 PM
Awesome! And I love that he wore the vest the whole time. Sticks make the best toys when boys are camping...

I got my youngest kid that book for Christmas and he lovvvvves it. He's trying now to teach the dogs tricks, it's cute. He did the bow and arrow thing too but his older brothers have real ones and he was a little hacked off that his doesn't look the same. next he says he's making the gocart and i've been warned to be sure to put aside money for all the stuff he plans to need for it lol. Oh well, better than sitting in front of the x-box.

My boys made bows and arrows last summer and even though they shoot approximately 5 feet with their backs against heavy wind it is their favorite toy. WAY FUN.

What a cool book, and how fun dad and W made the bow and arrow!
So did it work?? Any poor squirrels get a pint in the bum?? :P

D would have loved that, mama would have had a heart attack! LOL

I just bought the girl version of the book for my daughters. We just got it in our shipment earlier this week. I can't WAIT to do some of the fun things in there with them... like palm reading and tying a bandanna

I may have to check it out!
Glad you had a great camping trip.

You. are. my. hero.

That is so funny, my son has the same book and is fasinated with the same entry "How to make bow and arrows." I guess it is a boy thing!

Hubby gave that book to C for Christmas this year. He didn't take a lot of interest, so now I think I need to show him this to inspire him. Hmmm...or maybe I shouldn't. ;)
