Bowlin' Bowlin' Bowlin'

Finally after the arcade-dance-show was over, our name was called for our bowling lane.

The big kids have bowled a few times before, they enjoy it. We keep the bumpers up so they feel confident, not to mention it often helps Hubby's game.

I unfortunately forgot my socks at the hotel, so under no circumstances was I going to touch my nekkid toes in those ghastly fungus-filled shoes!! Not even if I was offered an antibacterial-foot-dip afterwards..GAK. Although, K looked adorable in her first pair of bowling shoes.

DQ and My Boy did pretty well, DQ even picking up a couple spares here and there. Hubby tends to veer right on his bowl...needs some tips from his brother the $500 bowling tourney winner!!

Next up was K, she needed a little help at first from daddy. There's just no way to avoid this butt shot!

K didn't need much help afterwards. She walk over to get her own ball from the rack each time and carry to the line, place it on the ground and give it a good push.

(whistling)....and about 25 a few minutes later her ball would reach the pins.....

...woo!!! Go K! I think her score was about 64 for 10 games! Hubby won highest score, of course, because I didn't play. I would have given him a run for his money!

Just a quick video of K...and us patiently waiting for her ball to reach the pins!

This is the first year in 10 years that hubby and I aren't bowling on a league. One thing I don't miss is all the cigarette smoke. HACK! We should take Bug to open bowling one day...she always has fun.

Too cute! I miss having a bowling alley in town. That's always a fun day out. And in fact I JUST scrapbooked our bowling day in Clear Lake last March. :)

We used to have a babysitter that would take us bowling. Kept us bust for hours and also wore us out. We didn;t have the luxury of bumpers though.

I could never go bowling as a kid because my mom was/is on a bowling team. And she's good. AND I'm not. Bad times, bad times.

I bet my kids would love it though!

So many things I love about this post:

    1) That I'm not the only one with Bowling Shoe Germaphobia.
    2) The butt shots. I mean, come on. Classic bowling pictures. I've got a bunch of those and they crack me up.
    3) That video! So sweet to see the kids and Hubby and hear you guys interacting...it's so different seeing people on video, in action rather than just through photographs! Was that My Boy giving Hubby a sort of back massage during the video? If so, can I be next in line?
    4) This line: "We keep the bumpers up so they feel confident, not to mention it often helps Hubby's game."

    Nice work, Jen, nice work.
Looks like Operation Bowl was a success!
