Suggestions for Ellen's Vegas Giveaway

So these babies came in the mail yesterday...
Photobucket
One good think about this illness i've been battling, that is should be gone by our trip next week!

So I was watching Ellen's 900th show and how she gave an audience member a new car. The rest of the studio got BlueRay disc thingys.

She probably has 200 people in her audience right, including her Riff Raff room?! Well the Colosseum in Vegas holds about 20 times that capacity.

I'm pretty sure she'll have to cheap out a bit with giveaways for that crowd.

I thought I'd help her a bit with some suggestions. They're cheap, their fun(-ish), and well, at least it's something.

-->Superballs. You know the ones you pay a quarter for then tell the kids "go play with them in the backyard" and they do. Then with one bounce they're over the fence and the fun is over. Yeah those.

-->TicTacs. Yeah, those are tasty. Not one box each though, just one tic. Or one tac. Gotta save money.

-->Cards. Those go with the theme of Vegas, casinos, gambling, magic. Again, though, just one card per audience member. Saving money! I hope I get an eight of clubs!

-->Crazy Straws. Totally fun, and fun-ctional! And cheap.

-->Bobby Pins. Cheap, functional(-ish).

Okay, those would just be crappy.

So we're trying to determine what else to do while we're there. Jerry Seinfeld is performing at Caesar's that same night, but tickets are nuts.

I also saw where you can attend the Price is Right. For a price. Same as the TV show, but just not taped for TV. If it were Wheel of Fortune I'd so be there!!

Any suggestions??

Yay!! You are almost to the show. If you like magic shows you might wanna consider checking out Criss Angel at the Luxor.

    www.crissangel.com/believe

Hope you have a bunch of fun and since you can't take pictures at the actual show you'll have to be sure to get pictures of you all living it up in Vegas.

I would definitely see Bette Midler's show, assuming (and that's a big assumption) that we could afford the tickets! Another good suggestion is free dance lessons! :)

My tween & I watch Ellen everyday at 3 - yesterday I told her MY friend is going to be on the show soon!!!!! She's like "a real friend or a blog friend?" I was all "A blog friend- but one of my BEST bog friends."

I've never been but my niece goes every year and swears by the (just went blank) the magicians where one of them doesn't talk and the other is REALLY tall. Now I feel silly because I can't remember their names. I hate it when that happens.

Oh I love Wheel of Fortune...and Ellen...can I go...I'll get in your suitcase and won't bother you at all :) LOL

Price is Right sucks now that Bob Barker is gone...I personally think that Drew Carey does a horrible job.

Ooh I can't wait to see your pics from your trip!

I haven't been in years... All I can say is have a blast with Ellen and steer clear of Circus Circus. That place creeps me out!

OH I love Vegas! Defintetly visit all the hotels. The Shark Aquarium at Mandalay Bay, Madam Tousseux Wax Museum, Margarittaville, The M&M Museum, take a taxi to "Old Vegas"at night for neat street vendors, a cool light show and cheap steak and lobster buffets. Eat amazing crepes for breakfast in the Paris town between the Paris Hotel and Ballys, and then go up in the Eiffle Tower. Visit the white lions, see the Beatles LOVE show, Blue Man Group, and the LEgends show to see some impersonators of your favroites. Oh and eat, eat and eat!

Really, I didn't skim your post. I was just hushing my toddler and answering four questions from my four year old. I am with you now... you are looking for suggestions on cheap giveaways.

Those tiaras from the dollar store would be awesome. Or Christmas tree, pine scented car stinky stuff, that hangs from your rear view mirror? Those sound awesome.

    have the best time!

Hubby and I are uber, uber cheap...but last year when we went we took one of those 2 hour tours of a time-share deal. They try & sell you hard, but we just took our free tickets to some magic show (it was really neat) a comedy show & two free dinners. You can negotiate what you want from the people who try & sign you up!!!

Seriously though, have a great time, and tell Ellen I said "Hi!"!

too bad you are not gonna be there when the jo bros have their concert on the 29th, because you could've been there hehehe my ex actually got tickets for them when they visit for turkey week.

You are gonna have such a good time! I love Ellen... she is so awesome! I love your giveaway ideas. Does Ellen give things away at every show?

I saw Celine at Caesar's and OMG.... FREAKIN' AWESOME!!

I've been to Vegas TONS. I would recommend the "Blue Man Group". It was funny, entertaining and worth the money. Or you could just gamble....that's always fun too.

Me and Vegas are not friends. I trvel about 75K miles a yr for business and have been re routed through there too many times it is a joke. Great for people watching and gaining good blog material I guess. have fun , feel better.

What about the Cirque de Soleil... I saw that show my one and only time I went to Vegas.

Oh have fun - let us know if you're on... not that I get to see the show here or anything - but I know you'll put a clip on your blog and I'd love to see it!!

I like those squishy balls that when you put them in the palm of your hand and squeeze, the color of the ball changes. Good stress relievers and probably helps with sexual play, too, just cannot remember why...

I have a feeling she won't cheap out on you, I bet you'll all get tickets come back later to see Bette Midler or Elton Jon or some other fabulous Vegas show. She's gotta pull out the stops for a stunt location like that, doesn't she?!?! Or maybe you'll all be invited to a private dance party at Pure!

No matter what, drag your hubby out to one of the dance clubs. They are ridiculously expensive, but so much fun!

Trying not to be TOTALLY jealous! You're gonna have a blast and I SO hope you get something better than a bobby pin... : )

I've heard rave reviews about the Love show!

  33. Noob Mommy said...

I hope you have a blast at Ellen! I saw Jerry live before and he was hilarious. However, my all time fav Vegas show is "O" at Bellagio. I've also heard La Reve is the new O. Both amazing, both pricey. My next stop will be the Love show. Hubby is a total Beatles fanatic. Hope you get to indulge in some Vegas buffets...mmm...Paris buffet has the most amazing coffee. Ok, I'll stop now.

  34. Julia@SometimesLucid said...

I went to Ellen's show once, was totally excited, and got....NOTHING! I was bummed, and tired. She makes you get up and dance every couple of minutes!

Not sure how you roll obviously since I know you like, well, I don't know you, but I would vote for Blue Man Group if you're into getting a little wacky...

Vegas simply rules...consider it the ultimate adult playground and PLAY!

I know a way you might be able to get two playing cards instead of just one. Ellen can go to the gift shop and pick up the used ones they sell from the floor! They only use a deck of cards for so long, than they punch a hole in them and sell them in the gift shop.... talk about thirty!
