Mood Swing
I'm moody.I'm a woman, I am entitled.
I love my little PunkyMoods widget. I change it often.
I don't know if you notice. Or care.
But, I go through about a dozen moods a day.
Sometimes my swings are long, sometimes very brief.
I enjoy being able to capture them so clearly with a scribbled little sketch in my sidebar. Because, that's how I draw. I'm not a very good artist with a pencil.
Remember when writing in calligraphy was popular.
Anyhoo.
It's funny how the littlest things can change my mood. A phone call, a stupid driver, a long line at the store, a cherubic toddler, a cold Dr. Pepper, 10 minutes of quiet, watching a tv show from start to finish.
Which way will I lean towards next...anger or bliss? Pride or jealousy? Exhaustion or over-caffeinated?
Exciting aren't I?
I mostly want to be bubbly and happy, carefree and loving, but things don't always work out like I plan.
Maybe my expectations are too high?

i am the same way, my moods change from one hour to the next...and lines and drivers are two things that will change it minute by minute!

My mother and sister had a wide range of moods. For some reason, I think I was spared the mood gene. Instead, I walk through life laughing at the most inappropriate things. A child gets in trouble for fighting and I have to walk out of the office to not laugh. It gets me in trouble with others - especially ones with the moods.
But don't worry. I'll just laugh at you.
And I totally get how watching a tv show from beginning to end can enhance a mood. Never happens here.

Funny, I was just trying to "explain" calligraphy to Tara yesterday. We saw calligraphy pens at Barnes and Noble. I do love writing with a fountain pen, and now have the "need" to go pick one up at Staples... I'm guessing they still sell them!
I hate that little things can change my mood so quickly - dumb things that should not even bother me! Some of those things done by me, not just others.
I hope you have a great day!

My wife says that my mood changes really fast...she calls it a temper, but I disagree since I don't get really angry.
Check out my giveaway when you get a chance!

Been reading you mostly via Feed Reader lately, and realized I have been missing all those mood changes. Darn!!!
February 17, 2009 at 4:33 AM
It certainly keeps you exciting!
February 17, 2009 at 6:10 AM
Ok! I could have written this myself!

I do notice that little thingy on the side. And for the record, I still pine for calligraphy.

My moods change a lot too. Sometimes people I have to deal with on a daily basis just put me in a bad mood!

I have been very moody and irritable lately....I think it's just this miserable weather...WE NEED SUNSHINE...AND FLIP FLOPS...AND DAYS LOUNGING AT THE POOL!

Devilish is what it says now...intriguing.

I think it's going around.
For me, it's the Winter-everybody's sick-stuck in the house blues. Blah.
February 17, 2009 at 7:13 AM
I do the moody thing too. We are entitled!

must be rough being human ;)
This is iTherapy, didn't you know? It's nice that people read and comment, but in the end, it helps you bring your thoughts and feelings together, doesn't it?

Oh we all want to be bubbly and happy, carefree and loving, but we're MOMS right? I have this vision of myself as this cool, relaxed, peaceful mom gardening and strumming guitar and showering my kids with endless hugs and kisses but what I see in the mirror most days is a tired, short-of-patience mama who is too quick to scream. I do have those perfect moments though when all the stars have aligned - but it's fleeting. I think I need your mood widget so I can at least acknowledge visually the good moments when they are here.
What a ramble.
:-)

I fell like my moods swing a little more now that I am a mom. I don't think it's the hormones I just think it is the little lady and her expectations that keep my moods moving back and forth.

oo such a bad bloggy follower I hadn't noticed the little drawing over there! I am totally going to look all the time now :-P

I love that thing, I noticed it since the beginning! Right now, my mood widget may be x-rated.
February 17, 2009 at 9:54 AM
I'm the same way - and that mood widget is cute!!! I may be adding one of those to my blog soon, too! I have a little magnet one for the fridge and sometimes catch my hubby changing it according to my moods!! ha!

I really get this today. My post was waaaay more downing, but the same concept- I guess my expectations were way too high, too!
February 17, 2009 at 11:14 AM
Yep, you're a woman all right! It's your entitlement!

As a SAHM, my moods change like I am bipolar. Although, right now my two boys are sleeping AT THE SAME TIME. Currently at peace and in heaven.

My husband is really moody....lol

I am just as erratic. Let's just tell people it' part of our unpredictable charm.
February 17, 2009 at 12:41 PM
I have never actually noticed that little mood-chick over there before. Cool! Now I will be checking that icon every time I read your posts!
February 17, 2009 at 1:17 PM
I swear, my moods change so dramatically that I sometimes wonder if I have multiple personalities!
February 17, 2009 at 4:14 PM
Me too.
February 17, 2009 at 5:13 PM
I hate my moodiness. It's outta control some days, which is a tad scary. Especially when I'm driving on a bridge...
February 17, 2009 at 5:36 PM
I.AM.MOODY.
I don't mean to be, but it happens. Amazing how a cold Dr. Pepper can cause world peace! LOL
February 17, 2009 at 6:18 PM
I'm the same way... my moods change by the second, lol.
BTW, I got the card today. Thank you sooo much!!! ;o)
February 17, 2009 at 6:24 PM
I think the worse part is not knowing what might be coming next! I love the punky moods thingie. I have it too... sometimes when I see what it's set on I'll say, "What? I felt that way 2 hours ago?"
February 17, 2009 at 6:48 PM
Yep, I've evolved through dozens of moods since I got up this morning. My poor kids and hubby don't know what to expect from one minute to the next. Whatever. They're lucky to have me :-)
February 17, 2009 at 7:13 PM
Oh my sweet Jen!
I blame everything on hormones. Just go with the flow. (Or, wait... that might sound a little gross... um... anyway)
How lucky are we that we are women and we are expected to have 'moods'? It's alright. Just hang on tight and know that I'm/We're here for you! :->
February 17, 2009 at 8:17 PM
Oh you sound like me... I'm ALWAYS moody!
Hey wait, maybe you're prego too?
February 18, 2009 at 11:36 AM
I like your widget!
I have been on one crazy rollercoaster of lately and I long for my normal boring life back!
February 18, 2009 at 12:54 PM
I adore watching a whole TV show... almost as much as watching an entire movie. :) I'm with you on the mood thing.... mine is often altered by those around me, so it seems like some days everything is great and then once person comes in grumpy and we're all in a tailspin together. Sigh. Sometimes,we're our own worst enemy when we're SAHMs.
February 18, 2009 at 6:27 PM
we should be sisters. thanks for being so transparent.
