A Thousand Thumbs Down Thursday
Mother's Day, 2009--So the Boardwalk has it's downfalls. My Boy cried, "STOP" the first time he was on this ride with Hubby, they stopped the ride to let him get off. Giving it another try with Cousin T, they both jumped ship shortly after the ride began. Just too nauseating! Hopefully my son will remember next time we go to just avoid it completely.

I've been there myself, little dude. It's ok to say no to nausea. *high five*

Yay, I'm first! Happy ATWT! That is such a funny pic, my boys are the complete oposite. They love the thrill of scary rides (well carnival and water rides at least, we haven't taken them on roller coasters yet.)
May 13, 2009 at 10:36 PM
Well, mom, at least he 'tried' and twice even! I'm proud of him.
May 13, 2009 at 11:00 PM
Great picture. I'm with them.. I get nauseous on just about everything! When we go places with a group, I'm the one who sits with all the stuff!!!
May 13, 2009 at 11:07 PM
I did my first Thousand Words Thursday and used a pic of my dh in the nursery after my son was born. I Love this pic and it is so moving to me. Thanks for the challenge. God Bless and check mine out if you have time.

Guess they don't have DQ to give them pointers!!
May 14, 2009 at 12:19 AM
They'll try it again. My husband still does even though they make him sick. :)
May 14, 2009 at 3:51 AM
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of puking, either. Unfortunately, though, as I age, most of the rides do that to me!
May 14, 2009 at 4:03 AM
These nauseating ones were my FAVORITE carnival rides when I was a kid.... Now, after three kids, I just can't take them anymore. *ralph*
*~*
May 14, 2009 at 4:09 AM
Ugh, I get nauseated just thinking about how that ride would go - and, no, I don't normally suffer motion sickness. lol
May 14, 2009 at 4:09 AM
Too cute! Love, love, love the glasses!!!
Happy ATWT, Mom.
May 14, 2009 at 4:11 AM
Again. Where's the funnel cake ride?
May 14, 2009 at 4:18 AM
I rode a similar ride at the Seattle Center when I was a kid - since my tummy was pretty much upside down for the rest of the day, I totally steered clear of it in later years...so maybe your son will remember to do the same! ;)
May 14, 2009 at 4:23 AM
awww, poor guy!!!
May 14, 2009 at 4:31 AM
It's great that he gave it another shot but maybe it is time to give up the ride and maybe try it again in a few more years! The Boardwalk sounds like a fun place!
Have a great Thursday!
May 14, 2009 at 4:36 AM
Oh, I would be giving thumbs down right there with him. I'm not much of a thrill seeker when it comes to anything that resembles a spinning, dipping, climbing, diving ride. ;)
May 14, 2009 at 5:01 AM
LOL! That is too funny!
May 14, 2009 at 5:12 AM
That is funny! Bummer on the ride. lol
May 14, 2009 at 5:30 AM
a lot of rides do the same to me and now as an adult I just don't do them
May 14, 2009 at 5:37 AM
lol boys never learn.
May 14, 2009 at 5:53 AM
I used to love all those rides when I was a kid, and then as a teenager. And then as an adult. Something happened to me. I get all queasy when I even look at them. Forget about riding them. What the heck happened to me? Is this normal? Yikes~ Cute picture. I'm wondering though, how they heard him yelling stop for them to let him off the 1st time. Those places and rides are usually very loud. I guess your boy has some pipes, and maybe daddy helped too? ;) Hope you have a great day!
May 14, 2009 at 6:02 AM
hehe okay it sad that it makes them sick.. but I loved that they stopped for a photo opt!
May 14, 2009 at 6:08 AM
Ooh yeah...that ride'll make you lose your lunch every time!
May 14, 2009 at 6:22 AM
Oh, that's hilarious. Too funny. Great pic ;D
May 14, 2009 at 6:32 AM
you husband is so nice....Mine would have been yelling: Come on wussy's suck it up! Yeah, he's that guy..
May 14, 2009 at 6:34 AM

May 14, 2009 at 7:42 AM
Wow it must have been THAT BAD to get a double thumbs down...especially from your fearless crew there!
May 14, 2009 at 7:46 AM

Our family loves Santa Cruz. Just not all the rides!! I agree with the boys on this one.

May 14, 2009 at 9:03 AM
how easily they forget, but know you have photographic proof for a reminder!
May 14, 2009 at 9:14 AM
EWWWWW.....I think I've rode that one........and it made me puke!
Happy ATWT!
May 14, 2009 at 9:32 AM
Oh yeah, I love crazy rides but that one ...probably not so much.
I got lots of pics in my thursday story! ;o)
May 14, 2009 at 10:11 AM
At least they tried. Twice. i would not have even went near that thing. LOL. I am a wimp.
May 14, 2009 at 10:40 AM
Actually the only baby in there was our son and that is Dad reflecting I think on everything that had just happened. they had just finished weighing and measuring and all that after he got to carry him to the nursery from the OR cuz I had to have a csection after 2 days and no dilation. We tried for 12 years before we had him and I think it was just a lot of emotions and very overwhelming. he said he was crying and I wish I was there with him but I was a little occupied...lol! Thanks for the comment!
May 14, 2009 at 11:34 AM
I wish I could record my stepdaughter's reaction after rides like this, because she never believes me when I repeat how much she HATED it.
May 14, 2009 at 11:42 AM
Most rides are too nauseating for me too. But the beach in your post yesterday looks right up my alley.
Linked here from another Thousand Words Thursday post. Love all the pics.
May 14, 2009 at 12:07 PM
So proud that he at least tried. I would have taken one look and ran.
May 14, 2009 at 12:21 PM
I love scary rides. Maybe next time they'll love it, or at least maybe they stay on a bit longer. ;)
May 14, 2009 at 1:05 PM
It's totally alright to try and then say no :) Especially no to nausea!
May 14, 2009 at 1:08 PM
I used to love rides like that, now I can't even ride the elevator without getting naseaus! Maybe too many years of riding bad rides! Maybe they'll remember that the next time (but probably not) :)
May 14, 2009 at 2:44 PM
Great picture! lol I posted my first TWT, don't know if it was a thousand words or not, but I tried!
May 14, 2009 at 2:56 PM
Nope not the high stuff. Or the spinning stuff
May 14, 2009 at 4:30 PM
What a cute pic! I'm not sure I could handle that one either.
I'm joining you for ATWT for the first time this week! Great idea!
May 14, 2009 at 5:44 PM
I love that he tried a second time though, thats moxxy!
May 14, 2009 at 6:27 PM
Leave it to me to take it literally! lol
May 14, 2009 at 6:30 PM
Woah! They stopped the ride so he could get off? Now THAT is cool. I hate being scared on rides. I always beg someone to let me off, but I suppose it's too late once the rollercoaster is on the decent...
GO A's!!!
May 14, 2009 at 8:00 PM
I so don't like anything that makes me sick! TFS
May 14, 2009 at 9:38 PM
Lovin the thumbs down from both. Maybe next year they will skip it all together. Maybe?
May 18, 2009 at 7:21 PM
