My 2009 List of Things I Probably Won't Accomplish

Every year, same old thing.

I will vow to lose weight. Translation: I will eat one Hostess cupcake at a time, not kebob them.

I promise to shop for Xmas presents before December. Translation: I will shop, sure. But, I will BUY the week before Christmas.

I will not let my PMS interfere with the family. Translation: Be nice to me or I will leave town for a week each month.

I will include something green on our plates at dinnertime. Translation: Green Jell-O is good for you, I think.

I promise to exercise more. Translation: I will manually turn off the T.V. without using the remote.....YES kids, you can really do that!

So, last years' garbage out of the way, here's my list for 2009....let's see if these babies happen.

*I resolve to make Saturday's my Blogging Day Off. On the sixth day I will rest. Possibly the seventh too.

*I will share my brownies and not make them at 7:46am when the kids leave for school.

*I vow that if the days are 68 degrees and warmer, I will walk to the school to pick up the kids, rather than drive 2 blocks.

*I promise to go on 2 or more GNO's a month, so help me Ro, Merrie, or G!

*I will be more organized. Which may only mean, I will remember mail my bills before I get reminded.

*I vow to comment more on my favorite blogs, all 1,384 of them.

Now what do you resolve for the new year?!

And, if you have any cool plans for tonight let me live vicariously through you!

I have a fantastic plan for tonight: TV with my two children (6 + 3), hoping they sleep before I do (so I can wait midnight and say "Happy New Year" to my husband). I love your post, Happy New Year to you!!!

Jello contains vitamin J. I'm not sure what it does, but close enough.

I think you can pull them all off. Happy New Year!

What honesty! What truthfulness! Only here could we find it! LOL! Thanks for sharing what you WON'T do and I believe your 2009 list looks fairly easy, cept maybe not blogging on Saturday's. Addictions are hard to give up.

No resolutions, I can never keep them. Or can only keep them for like an hour.
We are having a family friendly New Years Party tonight at the community center. Lots of disco music and dancing. It is gonna be a blast.
    Happy 2009.

Hmmm....I rarely make resolutions. At new years anyhow. Maybe to make it to the gym at a consistent time each day?

    I vow to read you.

I think I can actually accomplish this resolution.

OMG! You follow that many blogs?!!?? Do you ever sleep???

Love the resolution list... and I LOL at the shish-kabob'd ding-dongs. Such a great mental picture!

Good luck and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

You crack me up! I need to look back at last years goals and see how I did. I'm sure they are not too great and I know the whole lose weight will be showing up again this year.

As far as plans for tonight. It will be a quiet night at home with some friends. We're having appetizers and Wii challenges!!

    Happy New Year!!

What would a New Year be without the resolution to drop that last 15 pounds?! And, I'm going to work on speaking nicer to my family, rather than barking orders (I was reminded that this is a good thing during the Christmas Holidays - for some reason this time when I was reminded I really 'heard' the person tell me). And, as for New Year's - well, hangin' out at home as usual and having a New Year's Day brunch in front of the fireplace (no fire though - the fireplace doesn't work well, but I do have a fireplace candelabra in it!). Happy New Year, Jen :-)

Great list! I have no fabulous plans for tonight...husband's on call so that means yet another New Year's Eve party at home with the kids...probably playing Rock Band and Uno and Guess Who!

You go, Girl! No big plans tonight; just a little party at the neighbor's. I'm taking PW's Bacon-Wrapped Jalapenos! YUMMMM

hmmm... I hadn't even thought about this year's resolutions!

The best part is looking back at last years goals and seeing how you did. I read some of my 2008 goals this week and was suprised by how shallow they seemed now. Loved reading your list!

I typically don't announce my resolutions until I'm at least in February (for fear of jinxing it).

I will have my results from last year posted at noon 12/31 (I scheduled it so I wouldn't forget)

Have a great and Happy New Year.

Great list! I vow to get back on the treadmill and lose those pesky last 10 pounds that I just can't seem to lose. Also, I plan, hope, and pray that the economy will be better and give me a chance to pay off the credit card!

  18. Michelle said...

Your already doing more than me.. I haven't even made a list! :) good luck! ;)

  19. Leslie said...

LOVE these resolutions. Now I don't even have to come up with any of my own. I'm using these!

Plans for tonight? No help here. Unless of course you think playing video games with two twelve year old boys would be fun. No, I didn't think so.

I resolve to be honest with myself (which includes knowing I'll never keep any of my 'resolutions', never stop bitching about my life and it's chaos, never lose the extra 10 lbs of 'baby weight', never go to the gym every day, and never stop drinking wine and sneaking cigarettes)

    does that count?

Love this post...I don't hide the brownies...just yell at anyone who tries to eat them.

We're going over to a friends house tonight. They're having a big party with tons of kids so hubby and I should be able to hang out.

  22. Mama2hre said...

Congratulations on keeping all of your resolutions from last year! Ha-ha! That was great! I've NEVER make cookies or brownies right after the kids have left for school! :) *Guilty*

Plans for the night- stay home, do nothing, drink sparkling cider at mid-night, pretend its champagne...

Jury still out on if the green me is going to win by using a glass or the lazy me with a dixie cup.

    have a great one~

    (love the list)

I want to finish my book challenges I signed up for, and learn how to make blog layouts ( I don't have high hopes for this one). Hubby is working till 10pm tonight, and I have a fever so I am crashing the second I get the monkey's to bed... fun huh?

I like your resolutions, they're realistic, like the ones I made for myself. You can't aim too high! Sorry, you can't live vicariously through me, dh and kids are in bed, and I'm on the computer, pathetic I know.
