I Finally Finished the Twilight Series
Okay, i'm not the typical "Twilight" fan.It took me 4 months to finish Breaking Dawn.
No lie.
I was ...um... savoring it, since it was the end.
I finished it the other night, now I have nothing to read.
I'm still trying to decide if that book or the first is my favorite.
The new catch-phrase that I keep hearing on TV and from people I know is, "He's is [or is not] my Edward" when talking of relationships.
Sign of the times.
I'm an Edward fan, although in the movies, Jacob is so very easy on the eyes.
New Moon is probably my least favorite book, but when I saw the trailer for the movie, I am re-evaluating.
THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON trailer in HD
I hear the movie will be slightly different from the book.
Aren't they always?
Vampires, werewolves, and humans, oh my!
Tell me your favorite book of the series, why?
Also, send new book/series suggestions, I spent too much time tonight at Barnes and Noble in the HTML book section. *coughNERDcough*

I wish they had called it Breaking Beds instead.
That honeymoon scene ROCKED!!! :)

I like twilight best but I love the chapter "FIRE AND ICE" IN Eclipse. I am going to start reading The Black Parade. I heard it's like Twilight meets Phantom of the Opera. I will do a review on it next month!

Ugh, I love the Twilight series! Although, back in the day, you would have seen me reading those darned V.C. Andrews books! LOL!

I probably like New Moon and Eclipse best, only because of Jacob.
I'm so ready to see Taylor half-nekked. :0) The trailer has been watched more than once and the shirtless scene paused for full effect.
Thank you Taylor for the 30 lbs of muscle you put on for the movie.
Yum!

What a coincidence that I just finished the final book this afternoon. I loved all the books. But then I am addicted to pretty much anything in a series. The only problem is that when I finish the last book I get depressed that it will not continue. So now I am on a search for the next series I can dive into.

I just cannot get into that series. I had Twilight sitting on my nightstand for months, then I finally swapped it for another book. I just cannot get a feel for the whole vampire thing.

I loved Breaking Dawn the best. I just hated that it was the last book. I wanted more.
Right now I am hooked on the whole vampire thing, and am reading Night world. There are 3 books in the series. After that I have another vampire series lined up to read. Once I am done those, I think I want to end the vampire reading with Twilight again... I am a little addicted.

I haven't read the books, but did she the movie. It was OK. Just don't have time to read and when i do it is parent books. Cause I need all the help I can get. LOL

Haven't read the books and don't really have a plan to. I'm currently reading All Over but the Shoutin' by Rick Bragg (it's a memoir). He's a brilliant writer. My favorite book on CD is The Secret Life of Bees; listening to the voice of the narrator is like being in therapy or something; she's wonderful.

I loved the movie. Have not read /any/ of the books...yet. :/

I pretty much liked all of them :-) Can't wait to see the movie! Hmm Im reading Confessions of a Shopaholic.. but I'm not a big fan.

I have finished this awhile ago and I can't wait to see the movie;)!!!
I love love Twilight!

can't say I have a favorite of the Twilight series because I liked all of them. But I have a great series to recommend....The Outlander series by Diana Galbaldon. So very, very good, but not as easy to read. The books are incredibly long (700-1000 pgs per book) but you can totally get lost in them, incredible action, scenery, love story of all times, etc. etc. Check it out.

Missed you too- trying to get back out here- can't help with books , as you know- but catch Breaking Bad on AMC and it will make you forget you have problems (at least for an hour at a time).

Actually I think the second book (new moon) is my favorite. I'm partial to Jacob ;) Can't wait for the new movie!
I totally burned through the whole series in about a week...
The best book I've read since is "My Sister's Keeper" which the movie is coming out soon - it was so much better than I expected. It was also quite the tear-jerker if you are up for one of those :)

Haven't read the series. Watched the movie and I liked it...which is usually the opposite of how it goes for me

I am reading Breaking Dawn right now. FInally got it. I am SO excited for the movie after seeing that trailer!!

Breaking Dawn and Twilight tied for favortie. New Moon least favorite but I still liked it. I don't think the actor that plays Edward is that attractive even though everyone else is ga ga for him. Stephenie Meyers other book The Host is very, very good. I just finished it last week and would highly recommend it.

The last one had to be my favorite. I would recommend trying the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. The first(of like 7) book is 'Dead Until Dark' and they are fast reads compared to the Twilight series. Plus the created HBO's True Blood off the books.

I think I liked the first one the best. The second half of the last one was pretty good...but the middle was so slow.
And, yeah, Jacob is rocking it in the new trailer.

lol at McMommy. Breaking beds. haha.... well I think I loved the last one best. And of course I can't wait for New Moon. It definitely was my least favorite book out of them all. also laughing at your *nerd comment. So funny!

I enjoyed the series, not sure I can pick a favorite. If she finished and published Midnight Sun, I think that would be.
I have the movie and soundtrack. Love the soundtrack...want the Score.
A different genre, but one of my favorite series EVER is Liz Curtis Higgs series based in 18th century Scotland. Thorn in My Heart, Fair is the Rose, Whence Came a Prince, and then a follow up book is Grace in Thine Eyes. They are loosely based on the Biblical account of Jacob, Leah, and Rachel, with the follow up book loosely based on the story of Dinah.

Oh my gosh I have no idea which one is my favorite. I have them on audio now on my iPhone (got them just for my blogher travels LOL) and I am listening to them now I just started new moon.
But man I love all 4 of them. I can't pick. Though I do think she needs to write every single one of them from Edwards perspective. I am so sad someone leaked midnight sun and put it on hold indefinitely :(
June 4, 2009 at 7:52 AM
Still working through the last book. And I'll probably sneak a peek at the one that was apparently posted online without her knowledge! I've done them all on audiobook since I have very few moments of actual reading time. Although I love the series, I have to say I'm still more a Harry Potter fan at heart. THAT movie is coming soon too!!
June 4, 2009 at 2:12 PM
Breaking Dawn, hands down. It had the ending (well, middle part really) I was hoping for and a happy ending at that!
Did you know that on Stephenie Meyer's website there is an unpublished manuscript? It's basically the first half of Twilight, but from Edward's perspective. FABU!!
Makes you love him even more. I wish I had read Twilight, then Midnight Sun, then moved to New Moon.
Oh well.

New Moon was my least favorite too (because edward left) but I cannot wait for the movie... I think its gonna be awesome & soooooo much better than Twilight (the movie) was...
The other 3 are kind of a tie, but I laughed so hard in the Breaking Dawn book... ("you didnt tell me it was going to be like THAT" LOL)
Anyway -- good series... its in the YA section (Hey, I'm 29 and I loved them) - House of Night series by PC & Kristin Cast... really cool vampire stories, totally different than Twilight... and there is some teenage drama to make anyone laugh their heads off, because, hey, we've all been there :-)
Besides that, the Alex Cross series or Womens Murder Club series by James Patterson (or anything by him, really)...
Other good authors... Susan Wiggs (the Lakeside Chronicles are excellent), Nora Roberts... oh i could go on and on and on... I read probably between 2 & 5 novels a week... :-)
