Coming Down from the High

R & R was amazing.

And why does time fly SO QUICKLY when you are relaxing on vacation!?

Back to reality today as my poor Hubby found out his 2 week-long cough developed into pneumonia in his left lung.

Schneikes! This is by far our worst health-season in a LONG time.

Hopefully his meds will kick in quick.

But, I am really feeling the letdown of our weekend.

That feeling of complete elation followed by realizing that you can't spend 4 hours at the beachfront cafe this afternoon.

....or stay in your jammies sipping coffee all day with your best friends.

....or enjoy an appetizer, bread, entree, dessert, wine, and then See's Candy all in a matter of 2 hours.

....or know that you will not be together in this capacity for another 365-ish days.

Hurts a little in the heart area.

I haven't laughed like that in a long time.

I haven't smiled that much in 72 hours.

I haven't relaxed that much in a long time.

It hurts that the people that you feel the absolute closest to next to your spouse are in 4 different directions.

Being together once a year is clearly not enough.

I'm feeling pouty and a little kicky and want to tantrum, "it's not fair."

*Sigh*

Feelin' that way myself - had a good cry on my way back over the hill after dropping H and G off at the airport. Drank a beer with hubby this afternoon, but so clearly it is NOT the same ... hmmm, feelin' a little pouty myself apparently!

We just moved away from a group of friends that we met for Friday night dinners outside of football season. The laughter! The friendship! Friends who took care of each other! I so know how you feel! We're going out of town to visit. I cannot wait to laugh!
BTW, I hope your husband feels better. Try some of my Swine Flu Soup! http://bluecottonmemory.wordpress.com/2009/09/17/swine-flu-soup/

So sorry to hear about the pneumonia! And I can relate so well to the feeling of missing those friends who are just too far away.

Oh, I feel like I should do this every now and then, then on the other hand, I'd feel guilty for leaving Hubs with the kids. Glad that you had fun. Sorry he is sick. Take good care of him now that your funtime is over.

Awww, Darlin, ((hugs))to you. So glad to hear you had a wonderful time. Totally "get" that deflated empty feeling when you have to say goodbye.
Some of my closest friends I do not get to see on a regular basis either. I love it when we do get together and laugh until we pee, but the empty feeling leaves me in a funk for days :(

Hope your heart doesn't hurt for long. And hope your hubby is feeling better as well.

That stinks that you all live far apart. I am lucky with my girls that we are mainly all together with just a few spread apart. I wish it could have been longer for ya though.

Hope Hubby starts to feel better soon.

I COMPLETELY feel your pain... as I only see my girlfriends once a year due to distance. :)

Shedding a tear over here myself these days - missing those close can often take its toll.

    I'm so sad :(

I agree---I forgot what it was like to laugh that much---

I'd say "It's not fair," but on the other hand, I'm so incredibly lucky to have you & the girls as my friends; my life truly would not be as full without you guys in it. ♥
