I Used to Kiss the Television Screen

Music gets me through all the chaos.

Really.

On the car radio, one of my fave stations plays Christmas music most of the day.

At home I have XM radio on "Holiday Traditions" channel 801.

When I'm on the computer, I rock out to Jango.com.

Hubby turned me on to that little diddy.

It's free, it's a little confusing to explain, but you can find songs and artists and add them to your own personal station.

It'll run through all the artists you like and throw in some new music to test out on you.

If you hate it, you can give it a thumbs-down, or sad face and you won't hear it again.

It's pretty cool.

Hubby and I have our own style on our stations...

He's into Weezer, the Ramones, ZZ Top, and the White Stripes right now.

I have a just-as-diverse group of bands like the Go-Go's, Styx, TLC, Kid Rock, and The Pretenders going-on at the moment.

Whatever, we always have 'noise' going on in the house and it's mostly NOT our kids, ha ha.

Apparently to drown out his brothers' snoring, Hubby grew up listening to talk-radio.

Lucky for me (sarcasm intended), we fall asleep and wake up to KGO, KNBR, or KCBS.

Bill Wattenburg on Sunday nights is the coolest, though.

The guy is BRILLIANT.

Puts hubby right to sleep.

Not me, just adds to my over-active mind.

But, when I'm listening to music, it just takes me to a place.

I love to hear oldies that take me back to jr. high...like right now Ratt's "Wanted Man" makes me giggle.

Having an older brother, I listened to Michael Schenker, Aerosmith, Quiet Riot, and Ratt as a tween.

But, I was also a Duran Duran nut.

And, by nut, I mean, kissing the TV kind of nut.

Buttons, posters....John Taylor was the dreamiest!

Yes, music can definitely put a spell on you.

Who are you listening to now....who did you rock out to as a teen!?

I personally am not a fan of background noise. I love music but the TV in the background makes me crazy. When I met hubby he always had at least one thing on, radio or tv non-stop. I quickly put a stop to that or I would've truly gone crazy. My thoughts are with 3 children in the house you have enough noise already. He would definitely side with you though!

I love all kinds of music. I always hated Country...but today's Country is different...really into Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, and Jessie James right now.

I was a HUGE Duran Duran fan. My friend in school lived in England for a year...she introduced me to their music even before they were popular in the States. I used to kiss Roger Taylor (drummer) posters!

As a teen, I listened to a lot of Rap ( it was the early 90's.) Then I evolved to a ton of Elvis and Classic Country ( think Merle Haggard and George Jones) Now... it is a mix of Country, Rock and Crooners ( Michael Buble, Matt Dusk) Wow..confusing or what?
