You are not too dumb to listen, THEY are too slow to give it to us in Lehmans terms!!!
September 10, 2008 at 9:59 AM
that how i get when hubby starts talking about work. i used to work for the same company so i know what he's talking about, but i just don't care anymore. so he just drones on and i just nod my head. sorry hunny, it's boring!
September 10, 2008 at 10:03 AM
As much as I sooooo don't understand this language either, I really wish my hubbie did. It seems like it would really come in handy when we needed computer help. :)
September 10, 2008 at 10:39 AM
Oh my... I can really relate to this. After awhile, when my hubs is trying to talk to me about his work, he starts sounding like the adults on the Charlie Brown cartoons - wha, wha, whaaaa... have no better idea of what he does than before he started talking.
September 10, 2008 at 10:47 AM
LOL..I have been caught way to many times "not" listening to dh "interesting" explanations.
September 10, 2008 at 10:50 AM
Hahahaha
That's how it all sounds to me too.
Now when I talk about a good deal and am all excited and share with the hubby he gives me a great blank stare and I can actually see blah blah blah running through his head.
Love the new signature ;) Cute Font!
September 10, 2008 at 11:27 AM
I sometimes wonder if my husband really proposed or if I misunderstood his yada, yada, yada!
Funny post! Melissa
September 10, 2008 at 11:54 AM

September 10, 2008 at 12:07 PM
I would have left to watch TV as well, lol!
I hear Charlie Brown's teacher when my Dh talks about certain things too, I just go to my happy place and tune him out, lol!
September 10, 2008 at 12:07 PM
u aren't dumb, it just isn't interesting stuff huh!
September 10, 2008 at 12:09 PM
I have heard that conversation before with my hubby, except it wasn't computer programming, it was a history lesson.
September 10, 2008 at 12:19 PM
LOL -- that sounds like the convos my husband tries to have with me about the stock market.
Love your new signature, by the way.
September 10, 2008 at 12:20 PM
ROFL! I have that same conversation with my boyfriend! My eyes glaze over, and I start thinking of twitter, then he says "Let me explain", and I say "why? I'm not going to listen". LOL! Good to know I'm not the only one!
September 10, 2008 at 12:21 PM
Tell him next time to talk your "half life"...she should understand...
September 10, 2008 at 12:32 PM
Haha. Too funny. I also glaze over when our IT guys at work start trying to explain what they're doing to fix my computer. Uh huh? Uh HUH?
September 10, 2008 at 12:32 PM
haha i wouldn't know what lblah iblah sblah pblah is either. shoot, i tried to teach myself html coding...forget it. LOL
September 10, 2008 at 12:56 PM
LOL, I do the same thing when Michael starts about the computer stuff. I just walk away.
September 10, 2008 at 1:15 PM
This is why I had to take algebra2 three times to pass it. And what the hell am I ever gonna use it for except to get my AA? NADA!!
September 10, 2008 at 1:47 PM
Don't you love having a smart husband, though? I know I do.
Oh, and I keep stealing things from you. Namely, the signature idea. Hope you don't mind!
September 10, 2008 at 3:05 PM
Mmmm Hmmmm...
Just smile and nod, Jen. That's what I do!
September 10, 2008 at 3:13 PM

I think that's what my hubby hears when he, thinking he's being nice, asks about what I'm looking at it my pretty, new Sephora catalog.
September 10, 2008 at 4:12 PM
I WISH I could understand it... but I don't.
September 10, 2008 at 4:57 PM
YOu lost me at program too... math smart people are intimidating
September 10, 2008 at 5:03 PM
HAHA - that is my every day! Only I have to hear about IVs, lines, blood, guts, brains, hearts....usually over dinner. Half the time I have no idea what part of the body he is talking about...
September 10, 2008 at 5:44 PM
How funny. Your hubs should get together with my hubs and see who drops first. Civil Engineer vs. Mechanical Engineer - Blah Blah Blah to the Death!!
And not that I don't understand it...I just have better things to do like check in on my virtual bloggy girls!
September 10, 2008 at 6:09 PM
That's like my husband when he starts talking car stuff. I'm all uhhh huhhhh. Good thing there is no quiz when he stops talking.
September 10, 2008 at 8:26 PM
Oh, that is how I feel when anyone talks computer to me! funny, Jen!
September 10, 2008 at 8:37 PM
Being married to a technogeek myself, I feel your pain...way down in the part of my brain that screams "stop it! stop it now!" when he starts with the programming mumbo jumbo.
September 10, 2008 at 8:50 PM
That is so funny! Lblah Iblah... I am rolling!
September 11, 2008 at 1:20 AM
I stopped paying attention to anything my husband says about work a long, long time ago. It bores me... :)
September 11, 2008 at 3:50 AM
My hubby is a mechanical engineer. Every other word out of his mouth sounds like blah.
September 11, 2008 at 6:53 AM
That's funny and in our house it is the opposite. I am learning how to edit the HTML on my blogger page and I try to tell my hubby what I'm doing and how proud of myself I am he is probably hearing the same blah blah as you.
P.S. I found you on the moms helping moms page.
September 11, 2008 at 9:15 AM
Yes Jen!!!
I'll ask Rob how things went on his appointment and he tells me all of the details. (He's an actor who had to make a living for his family by becoming a software guy).
He tells me this-and-that and I wonder if he can see my eyes glazing over!
I mean, I'm honored that he thinks I understand, but, really? Honestly?
September 11, 2008 at 4:01 PM
That is usually when I call upon the few words I have reserved for this type of situation: really? that's interesting, hmmmmmmm, you are so smart!!! :)
September 11, 2008 at 6:00 PM
*snort*.......that's how I get when Erik talks football. Football for crissakes!!! At least you were blah-ing over something actually mind-numbing. I don't blame you.
September 11, 2008 at 11:57 PM
My friend is in interior design school and she had to learn AutoCAD...she tried to explain it to me once and my eyes started rolling back in my head. Much like every time my Chemistry instruction opens his mouth. All I hear is "blahhhhhhblahblaaaaah".
September 14, 2008 at 4:13 PM
oh I hear you. I stop listening when the dictionary.com word of the day appears on on the computer screen LOL.
September 14, 2008 at 5:25 PM
I know EXACTLY what you mean!
September 14, 2008 at 8:39 PM
You. are. hilarious.
I feel the same way.
I am completely technotarded.
