We Take Our Pizza Seriously

Pizza is my weakness, I admit it.

I can eat the stuff twice a week, as needed, like a prescription.

Our town has little to offer, entertainment-wise, but we have like 2000 pizza places.

And taquerias. But, that's a whole 'nother plate of tacos.

So I'm driving along trying to quench my desire for a carbload and I see a new sign.

"DOMINATOR $5.99, Ready-to-Go!"

Domino's apparently has Little Caesars' version of the Hot-n-Ready!

Cranked the wheel, and off to Domino's I went. Because, who doesn't love a pizza that's hot and ready to go when you get there?

Phenomenal price too, I could find $5.99 in change on the floor of the car!

So I walk in with my sock of change and order.

"Um, yeah, well they're not "Ready-to-Go" right now, but I can bring it out to your car when it's ready. It'll be 5 minutes."

PFT! This would never happy at LC. But I have the hot guarantee so I buy it.

Driving home the smell overwhelms me, and since eating while driving isn't against the law in California...yet...I burn my tongue on the first bite.

It's decent. It's no Round Table, but I didn't have the time or the extra 10 bucks to throw down on luxury.

We get home and the kids are critics too..."too many dough bubbles." "Crust is too thin." "Me onwee wike Wound Tabuhl."

Pizza snobs, I love it.

I miss Little Caesars! I always liked the square pizzas though and who doesn't walk around saying 'pizza pizza'.

I wish you hadn't ever pointed out that creepy baby thing though...I think it's looking at me now.

We have a grocery store near the house where I sometimes pick up sushi. When the boys were younger, they only wanted to eat the sushi from the VERY expensive restaurant near the grocery store. The sushi guy at the grocery store also worked at the sushi restaurant and the food tasted EXACTLY the same. They changed their mind when I told them to use their own money to buy what they like. Me, I'm going for the cheap stuff.

We love pizza too, and I USED to be a pizza snob, that is until I realized I LIKED LC pizza, then to go a step further, I tried the "Take and Bake" pizza our Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market has to offer, and found that we REALLY LOVE the pizza. Now nothing beats the real thing... by the slice at an Italian Pizzeria, that's the pizza I grew up knowing and loving! (Great now we are going to have to have PIZZA for dinner! Hmm White pizza with spinach!)

Love the dough critics. $5 pizza is rarely superb, but hey! It's pizza!

I am with you...I have my favorites...but just give me pizza. I go so far that when my family comes to visit, from 800 miles away, I make them bring me a "Red Barron"(no not the frozen) pizza from back home...my favorite and they are awesome leftover!

    I, too, have a pizza addiction. ;)

But in December, we were all struck violently ill after eating cheese pizza. Complete and total coincidence, but my son won't touch pizza ever since then.

    Makes life a little difficult.

    Have a great weekend!!!

Once I thought there's no such thing as bad pizza. Many pizzas later I change my mind but still love almost every variation.

They're pizza snobs because you've trained them right! But, I'm so far out in the country now, Pizza Hut is my version of Round Table (who I miss desperately, and they refuse to UPS me pizza!) Sad, very sad for a woman who grew up a New Jersey Pizza Junkie...

Oh man, I can't believe you brought up Round Table! So good! The hubs and I ate it on our honeymoon because they had them where we were. But alas, TX has no Round Table.

We do have Papa John's though! : )

We are pizza snobs around her too so we usually end up making our own, but if we do order we love some Blackjack Pizza. I think I could eat pizza nightly, but the hubs would rather have chicken breasts and veggies...damn health conscious spouse!

We have pizza snobs, too. Mine don't MIND storebought, but they much prefer handmade. So I end up making pizza dough two or three times a week.

But it's cheap, healthy (sort of), and a great way to use up leftovers.

Can you tell I've supermommed myself into a corner?

Sassy is a pizza snob too. She prefers delivery NOT Digornio.

We had pizza delivered tonight...and we are not pizza snobs! We even love the frozen kind around here! Elios, in particular!

I paid THIRTY dollars for a 16-inch pizza from the mom-and-pop down the road last night. I had to admit it was a nice, thick, delicious pie! When we were finished (we could only eat 1/2), I wrapped it up nicely in foil. Imagine my HORROR this afternoon to come home and realize that I had never put it in the FRIDGE! GRRRR.

I haven't tried that one yet, but we did hit LC a few weekends ago. Too many people and not enough pizzas led to a wait of 20 minutes. Unheard of!! For the Hot n ready?? Anyway, lately I've been lazy and opted for store bought frozen, but I do agree with K on the RT. Always good there, but too pricey!!

:) Everyone has their own very specific way of liking pizza, huh?

Hubbs likes his crust thin & super crispy, almost like a cracker. Me? I can't get a crust thick & doughy enough!

We've found a good compromise in Little Ceasar's pizza, and our 2nd fave is the WalMart take & bake pizza if you can believe that! It's really, really tasty!

Little Ceasers how I miss the "Pizza, Pizza" commercials and going to pick up that long ass box they use to send you home with because you had to have two.

Yes we are pizza snobs here too. My Husband would eat it morning-noon-and night if he could. But he can't, he has high cholesterol. :( I did come up with a healthy pizza for him though.

I'm in SoCal and we have a million pizza places here too. Round table and a local place called Grazianos are our faves.

By the way, congrats on winning the MomDot header contest! :)

Wound tabuhl is my favorite but we only go without the boys because they don't appreciate it as much as the Hut... how are they related to me?

Supermommy will throw down with some pizza bubbles! I pinch them all off before we divide.

Lucky! We have ONE pizza place, Pizza Hut. Actually, we only have 4 restaurants in the entire town including that one!

GUESS WHAT! I've decided to bring the blog back! Different site, different name. (I've been discovered.) Working on baby #3 and will be staying home after that, so thought I might have a little more time. I've REALLY missed it!

HELP ME think of a name! The email's up and running again. aliasblogger@yahoo.com
