Don't Forget the Barf Bag
So results of my poll show that 44% of you believe that a honorable Mother's Day starts with 'not having to plan everything yourself.'True story.
I love hearing, "whatever you want honey" but at the same time, that's an easy out for planning an event.
If it were truly up to me, I'd be somewhere tropical, sipping mai tais without a care in the world.
Unreasonable, sure, but that's what I'd plan.
Instead, the family decided to go to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
Hey it's the beach, it has part of my fantasy in it.
I'm actually excited.
We did buy season passes and the kids will have a blast, and truly THEY are the reason I'm a mom, so let's go have fun!
Hubby loves to retell the story of how we went together PK, or pre-kids.
I stuffed my fast-acting-metabolism silly with chocolate-dipped bananas, cotton candy, and funnel cakes.
*DROOL*
The ride home was a series of, "maybe you should pull over, I may just BARF!" every five minutes.
Now we pass that story on to our kids, when at every instant between rides is, "can we get a ___________________(insert sugar-laden item here)."
Remember when mommy got sick on sweets?
Ah, the good old days.
So while my kids get dizzy on things called the Tsunami and the Giant Dipper, don't mind me, I'll be enjoying my day in the sun
Just have to remember to pack the barf bag!
Happy Mother's Day!!

I suppose we don't really have that problem here. I am an over zealous planner. I guess I tend to over-plan everything.
Anyway...now that the kids are getting older, they are starting to plan nice things and I get to be the one to preoccupy mama while they get things ready.
Happy Mothers Day!!

Never heard of a fired twinkie! Weird :) The things we will buy at a fair...why is it that weird stuff sounds so good on vacation? LOL. I would love to get there...we live in Indiana and I have never been further west than Illinois. Talk about BARF! How bad is that? I really need to get my hubs on the traveling band-wagon. It is nice to just break away sometimes. After three yrs of our son's (and our whole family) suffering from his Eczema...he is finally healing from answered prayers and Vidazorb probiotics....we all could use a little, wait, HUGE escape from the daily grind. Happy MOther's Day! Caroline *mommy of two
