Soccer mom X2.

That's me.

I can say I am enjoying soccer a tad more this year.

K started and she is loving it.


A natural.


She loves the social part too of course, lots of cute little friends and a very nice coach.


She loves the activity and especially the "snack."


My Boy has moved up to playing goalie this year. Last year he'd tie his hands behind his back to NOT volunteer, he didn't like it. Now he's more confident and his skills have improved dramatically!


"I was bored...no one was near me the whole time!"

That's good remember! Our defense was doing it's job!

"Oh yeah!" So we'll see how long his new position lasts.

Please Send Gas Cards and a Cloning Machine.

Our schedule is going to make me crazy this year, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Anyway, people only know me by my crazy.

If I was all sane and calm and content, people would think I was smokin' something herbal.

And, most people know I only enjoy smoke if I'm in the center of a casino.

That doesn't even include dr/orthodontist/dentist/eye appointments, playdates, or parties.

Not to mention, how much driving will I be doing?  I should put a Taxi sign on the top of my car and add a meter and make a buck!

Or we should live in the car.  If it had a hot plate and wi-fi, i'm telling you I would.

At least 3 nights a week dinner-prep and execution is going to be insane.
AND...2 nights a week, I have to be in two places at once.  Superduper.

Hmm...smoking a little something is sounding better and better.

Just kidding mom and dad.

Bending It Like Beckham

First official soccer practice today.

It went well.

My Boy is committed.

He is excited.

He is willing to learn.

What more can you ask for?!

Oh and my silly hang-ups.

Still there.

Fall baseball was practicing at the adjacent diamond.

I wept.

No, I didn't.

But, baseball will come around again in the spring.

In the fall, we watch soccer.

Tales of a New Soccer Mom

Soccer's Moms Log.

Day 1.

I don't like it.

Okay so it's weird.

It's different.

I'm not used to it.

I'm a baseball mom.

I'm a dance mom.

I don't even know the rules of soccer other than kick the ball into the goal.

New things scare me.

We tookMy Boy to meet his coach and team tonight.

All the boys have played before.

It was MB's first time.

He had his arms crossed across his chest the whole time.

Hubby said it was his way of saying, "i'm taking this all in, i'm learning."

I think it's, "this is weird, what do I do with my arms?"

You can't touch the ball with your hands, right!?

My Boy is used to a glove, pitching, and a bat.

His arms are a handicap in soccer.

Hmm...

The parents knew eachother too...from before.

No newbies to cling to.

I'm skeered.

He blocked a ball heading toward him with his forearms.

Quick reflexes or fear, or both?!

Coach did comment that he was FAST.

He's a good runner, there's a plus.

Though I do want him to run off the field and tell me he wants to play fall ball (baseball) or basketball.

But he won't, he will follow through.

And he likes it.

I'm still not-so-sure.

Well, it could be worse, he could be in tackle football.

*Shudder*
