FREAK OUT Friday

So remember when I say I work best under pressure? Well, I do.

But, how do I come down from this HIGH I've sailed upon to complete the chores for our 8-day trip?

No, seriously, HOW?

This is where the anxiety attack comes in. And, no offense to anyone who deals with these regularly. Because I do too. Normally they come on without notice, out of the blue, sometimes when i'm the happiest as can be.

But I've almost perfected how to actually induce them as well. Aren't I talented? Poof, tah-dah, tingly arms, hands, and feet. Rapid heartbeat, sweaty palms, the feeling of actually, physically jumping out of my skin. Yep, all me. I did that. Do that to myself regularly. Especially before a trip.

So while I try and work myself out of this state of panic, I need to mention a few random things.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My SIL had a fab-o idea....ask the Hubby about his top 5 celebs they'd enjoy playing poker with!
Check out my bro's list HERE.

My Hubby, true to non-serious form as usual, answered the following....Estelle Getty (Golden Girls), and Mrs. Garratt (Facts of Life). But let me add the next 3 for him....Tina Fey, Anne Hathaway (we saw Get Smart the other night), and Kate from Lost (Evangiline Lily).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*LAUNDRY...remember it was on my checklist from yesterday? Well, it's still there. It will be there FOR-EVER! It will never be completed. Unless the world goes nudist on me, then i'll relax. Get a tummy tuck, then relax. But laundry is never done, don't fool yourself.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*No laptop. Don't own one. What the he!!s bells am I going to do for 8 days without my interwebs flowing through my veins? I'll do what I've seen others do (and have achieved success)....

HEY DELL....APPLE.....OTHER COMPUTER COMPANIES I CAN'T THINK OF THE NAMES OF.....I would praise you, love you, and worship the ground you walk on if you would be so kind enough to send me a laptop computer....oh and no bill either. For free. Just because I'm me, and i'm asking really nicely.

The "Hey" part? Oh that's just to get your attention. The all caps? It's all my LOVE.

Really. I know people who have actually done this and a camera, computer, or Nintendo DS just showed up at their door one day. No strings. Theirs.

It's called begging, and no i'm not too proud to beg.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*I know there's a library in Tahoe. It should have internet access.

How many times is it normal to go to a library when you're on vacation? The kids love to read so it's okay right? Twice a day?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Don't laugh, but YES, I have set up posts to appear the ENTIRE time i'm gone. Impressed?

Most posts are fluffy I admit it.

But I like the appearance that someone is home, if you will.

Feel free to comment, or not. You may not T-P the place while i'm away, we have ADT you know. That alarm will make your ears bleed.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*So Hubby gets on my last nerve by asking why I started packing 2 days before we were leaving. Can I get a EYE-ROLL here? Um...to pack 4 of 5 people (he packs his own sh--stuff) for 8 days and 7 nights takes TIME. I've been doing laundry for HOURS upon HOURS. Was he going to do this? Right.

"Oh all they need is a few shirts and a pair of jeans." I get that answer every time.

So yes I needed to start packing yesterday. Because today I need to...

-get DQ's haircutcheck
-go to the bank for a roll of quarters (no not for gambling, for the LAUNDRY MAT at the condo)
-pack baby K's bottles/cups/blankets/diaper bag/activities for the car ride and I should just attach the house to the car...etccheck
-call the stupid post office because I said to hold the mail starting Saturday not yesterday Thursday, and we are waiting for an import check! GRRcheck

Merrie...can I stop and grab one of your Valiums pleeeeeeeeease!

Have a great vacay.... and you made me laugh with your pre-posted posts... and you say everything is last minute (obviously not!!!!).

The thing is the laptop is still extra luggage. I would be just like you AT THE LIBRARY LOL!

I had my kids helping me fold the mountain of laundry the other day.

So yesterday, I was especially glad when my son looked at the new mountain of laundry and said, "Didn't we just fold all that?"

    Yup kid...it's a new pile.

shnikes! Hang in there. We are leaving for the weekend also, but I started cleaning yesterday. Still no packing done. Have fun!!!

And try to relax....it's the last time you will before you get back home!

You are going to be SO HAPPY once you drive away from your home and vacay actually started! And the hubby/getting ready for a week away combo never meshes very well, does it? I like our home to be clean when we leave because I don't want to come home to a piss hole. He never agrees ("Why does the house have to be clean when we won't be here???"), and therefore it is added to MY already busting to-do list.
But ANYWAY.........have loads of fun! And yes, I did throw a shoe at you. :)

Jen, Tahoe is such a beautiful place! I would love to go back there someday. Have a great time.

Honestly, I have not been caught up with my laundry like ever. I have seriously been behind since out vacation in April.

I am so sorry that you are putting yourself in a panic. I can't believe you set up posts while you are to be gone, though. Wow.

I don't have a laptop either, so let me know how that begging goes for you.

    Have a great trip!

Wow, want me to send you a few xanax? I would be in a panic induced coma myself! I can't even imagine the daunting task of packing for 4-5 people! I would be in balled up in the fetal position crying. Have fun and take lots of amazing pictures so I can drool in envy:)

LOL, you poor thing. I hope your trip is relaxing and you can chill out, kick back, put your feet up and drink some of your yummy white wine! You deserve it!!!

    Have a great trip!
Lemme know if the laptop thing works....I'm not above shameless begging.
LOL at the library on vacation...I lucked out and the hotel had free internet access for 15 minutes at a time. I used it 3 times in the 24 horus we were there.

And here I was convinced I was the only one who could self-generate the tingy hands via anxiety overload! ;)

Have a WONDERFUL trip...wishing you an accessible library visit or two...and some relaxing wine discoveries!

(My husband has a Bea Arthur and Aunt Esther from Sanford & Son thing. Maybe we should introduce them...)

Too funny! I hope you have a great trip and safe travels.

I know what you mean about being away from the computer, that drives me nuts too!

Dude, I have valium AND Xanax....which I hardly ever use, but I've been dealing with that crap since I was 20, and you know how people say "give up your troubles to God".?..Give up the panic attacks to the meds. truly. (ooh! as i'm typing you're playing Wild Thing!! Nice)

Have a great trip - we'll watch the place while you're gone.

Girl, I know what you mean about packing. I feel like I need a BIG vacation just from packing all the crap. Hope you all have a wonderful time and I think it's fine going to the library twice a day. ;)

    You can do this Jen.
    You ARE doing this.
    Breathe...smile...breathe.
(And I get your packing situation with Hubby. Mine packs for himself, POOF he's done. I'm left with everyone else. Geez!)

  14. Clare said...

Good luck Jen! I hope you have a great time, and don't get any more anxiety attacks before leaving!! Just one child to take to the beach nearly did me in...cannot imagine three, lol! Can't wait to catch and see about the trip when you get back! XO, Clare

I've got Xanax, and Xanax Extended Release. I'll hook you up.

    Have a great vacation!

With my kids I'd say 4 times to the library a day will suffice. What? They love to read. I love the Internet. It's a win-win.

Or, say you are getting coffee and beat it to the Library.

That completely sounds like your husband...mine would be doing the packing for the boys as he loves to dress them and have them look cool. Laundry sucks...talk your man into the big machines...cuts your work time down by half. Have fun. We're having a pool party at the grans while everyone is gone.

You crack me up, Jen! By the way, what you're calling panic attacks just might be adrenaline cursing through your veins! No, really, it feels kind of the same sometimes! M and I are really looking forward to seeing you and the crazy red-head and her family! And, have I started packing?! Um, no, but hey, I only have M and I to pack for ...

Oh, I forgot to remind you ... I do have a laptop, but the question is ... do they have internet access at the place you're staying?!

  19. Rebecca said...

Breath in.....breath out.....now focus girl, you can do it! hehe

I am sure you will get it all done and have a fabulous vacay girl, think of me while you are relaxing and having fun!

Be safe Jen, and enjoy yourself! :)

Hi, I came over from SITS. Yep, sounds like you are in standard "I'm running out of time" mode". Good look and remember that if its that important, you can probably find a store on the way that has it....I know....but you don't want to buy it because you have one at home.

    Have a good vacation!

You're going to Tahoe? Luckyyyyy. I can't complain, of course, but Tahoe recently came into my radar, for some reason, and I'm intrigued. I hope you will post lots of pics. Good luck getting ready; I'm glad I didn't come visit in the middle of your trying to get ready!! (Why didn't you tell me?! Sheesh!) Anyway, I'll be praying for your quick/easy prep and wonderful time...

You are too stinkin adorable!! And I mean it. I'm a similar person. You NEED a Blackberry girlie...you will fall in love like you've never fallen in love b/f. AND I think Tina Fey would be a blast to play poker with!!!!

    xoxoxo. HAPPY VACAY!!

I could so copy and paste this post when I go on vacation.
We are alike in the "freak-out" mode before trips.
I wrote a post on it.
I would link it, but I have no idea how to hyperlink from the comment section.
    This whole post...hysterical!
    Really.
    Love it.
I especially like that you have taken the time to post date posts for the week to make it look like someone is home.
    Too funny!
Have a great time on vacation.
Take a notebook and record all the funny happenings so you can share them later.

But more importantly, how will you be able to watch The Bachelorette? HOW?

I'd need a valium if I missed that show, or one of your updates. :(

    Have fun!

Not to sound selfish, but at least you left me something to read while you're gone. Have fun!

I do not enjoy packing in the least bit! My husband does the same thing...grabs his bag, a few shirts, a couple pairs of short, his toothbrush, and he's done. Meanwhile, I'm still doing infinite laundry, packing up the kids' stuff, diapers, toys, several outfits, bedding, snacks, nightlites, etc, etc, etc! At least he loads the car!

Of course, after we get on the road, all is well (as long as i didn't forget something!)...I hope you have a great vacation! And good luck with the laptop! Never hurts to ask (or beg). haha!

I am seriously thinking of you with all your anxiety and all.
~Don't tell anyone, but I have anxiety attacks too.

And I think it's a great idea to schedule some posts for while you're away.
It's kind of like leaving the radio on and using a timer for the lamps in the lounge room. :)

Have a great break, and (deep breath) relax.
