Tuesday Talk It Out

Still lovin' the Olympics, but dang i'm tired.

Hubs and I watched more volleyball (of course) tonight, and track. How about that show-boatin'-are-the-cameras-looking-at-me guy. Sure he's the fastest cheetah man around, but shoot, wait til the race is over!

Trampoline? Trampolinist? Really?! Did you know this was an Olympic sport? Maybe we should get one.

We DVR NBC's coverage only and watch most the evening stuff in real time, but 4 hours straight until 1am?! It's a school night!

The lack of sleep has caught up and i'm suffering from an Olympic Hangover!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The world may be coming to an end. Our Target was out of crayons, pencil sharpeners and reasonably priced wide-ruled notebooks.

We headed to another store and let me just say That Was Easy!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

K is starting this major tantrum just before falling asleep at 4pm until 7pm thing lately and i'm not real happy about it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I missed being a teacher today. It happens each year....for the past 10.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I forgot overhead pens from the school supply list. I remembered 3 boxes of Kleenex.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I wrote a guest post for a friend's blog in 25 minutes today. This post has taken 3 hours. (Funny Talk was all I had).

Ah, the sense of humor of a 9 year old. Good times.

Target was being ravaged the other day when I was there too. Apparently this 'going back to school' thing is quite popular. Bizarre.

Isn't it so darned strange that some posts just spill out of your brain and onto the keyboard like they were already written and edited...and some take hours upon hours to get out. It's like pulling teeth. Jeez.

Well, you're awesome, however long it takes you to type out a blog post. Fo sho.

I never new using the trampoline was an olympic event. I was shocked to see that. Did you see how high they were jumping? Holy Cow!

And I hear ya about the one dude that was a little conceited. Yikes!

Love the funny talk. Your kids are adorable!

I didn't know you used to teach! COMMENDABLE. After having children I realized I NEVER wanted to work in a preschool/school environment. I have been asked to do day care (of course...I'm SAHM so everyone thinks that something I would WANT to do) and I'm always "WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY?" I love my girls...buuuuuut...
    :)
Oh, and I feel for you about K's tantrum/late nap thingy. I used to put on Broadway shows just to keep my kiddo's entertained so they wouldn't take a late day nap.

I know what you mean about the Olympics. I am so addicted to them yet I haven't been this tired since my kids were infants.

I feel you,why are guest posts easy, and our own posts hard?

I feel your school supply pain. I still need notebooks and one book and...and...ugh. Oh well.

    It was yesterday--too funnhy

I too am suffering from the Olympics hangover. The last couple nights I have started to fall asleep at 8:30/9 because I am so tired. My husband has had to wake me up for the events I really want to see. I am torn with loving to watch it but wanting it to be over so I can get back to a realistic sleep schedule.
In addition, I also suffer from missing teaching this time each year. I am sure my friends who are still teaching hate that I call and talk to them about their beginning of the year preparations, though I do volunteer to lug my kids with me and come help set up their classrooms if they need me to. School doesn't start until after Labor Day around here, so teachers are not going back to work until next week.

I'm missing teaching this week - - it's my first "back to school" week as a "non-teacher." It's sad -- I miss getting my classroom ready, having bad dreams about the first day back, and panicking over lesson plans. Sigh -- I really do.

I miss the days when I could buy school supplies for myself! I love going into Staples! Too bad I don't really need any of it!

I'm not going to tell my hubby about trampolining (?) being a sport. He went off on a rant the other day when he saw badminton.

What?? Trampoling is an Olympic sport. Why didn't I find that sign up sheet - ha!

Yes, Target and Wal-Mart are out of crayons here as well. It's pitiful...

At least you just forgot one thing and WAS NOT GIVEN THE WRONG LIST! On my way to Target- if they're out of anything- Nervous Breakdown in aisle 18.

I DVR the Olympics, too, so I can fast forward through the ten minutes of warm-up to watch the two minutes of actual competition.

And, while watching the opening ceremonies, I wondered how many athletes hook up with athletes from other countries. Then I started shopping for which one I'D pick if I were in the Olympics. And single.

oh the things out of kids mouths!
If the trampoline is an Olympic event, you need to watch for me in 2012! I am a mean jumper when it comes to the trampoline!
    HA!

I never get all the supplies on the list. We don't start schoool around here until Sept 3rd

We've had our television on more with these Olympics than in the past year altogether! And I've been up past my bedtime for a week in a row. Is it almost over??

I'm a first-time visitor. What an amazing blog you've got! You've got all the technology biz down.

I am so signing Trev up for that trampoline event. Maybe K is just getting tired out from being the center of your universe all day while the big kids are at school. That's a big load on her tiny shoulders. I know being the center of my own universe tires me out...
She is precious-enjoy her with ear plugs in.

The trampoline "sport" was made up for the guys who were too old to do regular gymnastics anymore. And I think you call them "tramps."
Seriously, I've bestowed an award on you! Check it out here...

This time of year is always bittersweet for me too. As much as I love being home with my kids, I really miss teaching. New school supplies, getting the classroom ready, just the anticipation of it all...

I have an Olympic hangoever too. I've seen 11 PM WAY too many times in the last week and a half!

I must say that I always miss getting a classroom ready during this time of year too. I think it's in our blood, you know?

It's true...the Olympics are killing me with the lateness! I was all up into the uneven bars last night until the bitter end!

  27. Rebecca said...

Yeah I am worn out today too, not from watching the Olympics but from watching too much late night HGTV.

That's not a good phase Mizz K is going thru, how is she sleeping at night napping so late in the afternoon?

I am off for a nap now, sleep here i come! :)
