A Thousand Words Thursday

Cheaper Than Therapy

November 2003 On the backroads in our area, the driving age is..um..5. Hubby has loved to take the kids on a country cruise and then sit them in his lap to help him steer. Incidentally, I've never been in the car when this is happening. AND, my son was all of 2 years old here...who took the picture?

That is so cute...and exacly something my husband would do - minus the picture. She looks very focused on the road so you should have no worries - at least she's not on her cell :)

Oh I remember those days, I thought I was so cool when my mother would let me even hold the wheel and steer!
    So adorable!

I think my favorite part of the story/photo is that the 2 year old is the photographer!! Thanks for the lol at 6:30 am, Jen. :D

We did this as kids too! Your daughter looks like she's deep in concentration .. wish the drivers on the road were that focused too, lol.

TOO CUTE! That's how it goes down around here too! I've known how to drive almost forever..but on my 12th or 13th bday my grandad brought a car(he worked on cars) and I drove that thing up and down our driveway(LONG DRIVEWAY) and taught all my friends how to drive! LOL..good times!

My dad used to do this with me and my borther in the fields behind our home, and it's some of the best memories I have! Incidently, I am now the worlds WORST driver...so....it in no way helped with THAT, but it was fun none the less.

My dad lets my boys drive his dune buggy or the golf cart when we are camping. Gotta teach them the law of the road sometime. Plus kids LOVE sterring wheels for some reason

Good question! At first I thought maybe the car was parked, but that's not what the gauges say. I always begged my dad to let me drive when I was a kid and he never obliged. I don't think I'd let my kids do it, but I'm positive my husband would, just like yours.

Looks like she's doing better than some of the "legal" drivers I've seen!

That has trouble written all over it. You will be laying bed one night and all the sudden you hear the car drive away. Hmmm where might she have learned that skill? LOL
