A Thousand Words Thursday
October, 2002 ~I loved this costume, DQ wore it her first year in Preschool. We brought out the scrapbooks today and reminisced. Cute story is that when we visited our friends over our vacation, this costume came back to us! Turns out I had passed it down to their daughter and now that K is older, she can have it back! And, she'll wear it, this Halloween, her first year in Preschool!! Isn't that the coolest! I can't wait to compare pics! So have you broached the subject of Halloween costumes yet? I bet if you asked, your kids would know exactly what they want to be.

That is so cool that the costume came back around! We haven't seriously talked about costumes for this year yet but TRex is coming up with a new idea almost daily now that we see the Halloween stuff in stores already!

She is so adorable!
I haven't thought much about Halloween costumes yet, but I better start! I always wait till the last second and everything is picked over.
My daughter (12) thinks she is to big to dress up this year, but I have a feeling she will change her mind when she sees all the cute costumes.
My son(20 months)will probably be a stuffed pumpkin for Halloween.

Such a Beautiful mermaid!!! I'm not ready to even think about school starting let alone Halloween, so I won't be asking my kids what they want to be this year quite yet.

I was Ariel from The Little Mermaid when i was about 8. My mom made the costume(complete with a horrible red wig) and i wanted to wear it everyday. If i ever find a picture i will have to share.

Love the mermaid ensemble. Did you make the costume? Lil' D wants to be Spiderman again. We bought the costume with the built in muscles. He still likes to wear it around the house. I'm hoping he picks something else, since it doesn't fit that well anymore. Happy ATWT and take care.

Princess Nagger wants to be the Tooth Fairy this year - she wants to wear her purple sparkly tutu, a tiara and carry a wand...and I told her I'll somehow make a tooth-shaped bucket for her to collect her goodies in and some wings...maybe I should start now... :)

Very cute. That is cool that K. will be able to wear the costume as well! I don't know what Tara will do this year... last year we just went to a carnival that night rather than trick or treating....

My youngest was a mermaid last year :->
OK, I'm going to ask the girls what they want to be for Halloween. Here we go... (I'll type as we speak)
Me: Katie. Lily. Do you know what you want to be for Halloween?
Katie: Nope.
Lily: Na - Uh.
Lily: Why are you asking now? That's months and months away?
*******
Well, OK. I guess I have some time to work on my sewing skills

That is such a great costume. How cool that you will get to use it again. Costumes can be so expensive. Mine will be super heros this year.
July 23, 2009 at 1:22 PM
Very adorable! Even better that it's passed down.
July 23, 2009 at 8:20 PM
Cute costume idea and I bet the girls love it! Luckily my daughter is still too young to pick out her own so I'm thinking cat since that is her favorite animal right now. I also figured I would go simple before she starts picking complicated characters.
