A Thousand Pictures Thursday: The Padres, Some Pets, and a Friar

Cheaper Than Therapy
Driving down to SoCal takes a while.

About 8.5 hours each way.

There's a lot of this...

But, sometimes there's a highway bonus, thank goodness for the carpool lane, I say!

After checking into our hotel, we still had enough energy to do a little more.

And, by energy, we mean a major league baseball game!

Home of the San Diego Padres, with the visiting New York Mets.

For $12/person we get a hot dog, Coke, and the nosebleed seats.

Only in San Diego, would the ball park come complete with a sandbox!

What the...?! Those aren't the mascots, nope.

Remember, it's called Petco Park. Those are the pets.

Oh, and there's the mostly bald guy in the robe, looking slightly perverted.

Not a Muppet-Hugh Hefner, but a Friar, or San Diego "Padre."

Um. Okay.

A little skyline.

A little Gaslamp District.

A STUNNING moon-rise over the stadium.

Last but not least, a walk-off grand slam home run.
*okay this guy didn't hit it, but he could have*

The sandbox in the outfield is perhaps THE BEST idea a MLB team has had. It's hard to keep kids in stadium seats for that long! And every time we get in the car pool lane (anywhere in the US) it seams we go so much slower than the regular lanes. Bad road carma :)

Wow. I haven't seen traffic like that since living in the northeast. Love the pics of the game and the city outside your windows. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day.

The sandbox is a great idea! We are going to a Brewers game on Sunday and there is no sandbox there. Too bad, because that would entertain the G-man for a while I am sure!

Our ballpark for the Diamondbacks has a swimming pool off in right field! It's hilarious when a ball gets hit over there!

Wonderful photos. Looks like a great time. We need to go to a night time baseball game... I want to see the park and the surrounding area all light up from the stands! The moon picture is great. We did see a grand slam the day we went! Love the sand box!
