A Thousand Words Thursday

June, 2000 Is this a redneck entertainment center or what!? We never used our fireplace for a real fire with wood and all. Plus we didn't have more than a little end table for our TV...ouila! The fireplace was as good place as any right?! Can't remember how long we kept the TV in there, but we now have a proper home for the boob tube...and the bricks have a wood-burning stove insert within it (that we still use maybe once every other year). We're so grown up now!

I think that looks pretty neat! We don't use ours either. Why would we need to in So Cal? I have my couch pushed up against mine.

I love this! I would totally do that if I had a fireplace. :)

LOL - it fit great. You could have put a little molding around the edges and it would have looked like a built in unit :)

Not redneck...definitely a good idea. Keeps the kids out of the fireplace, and it's harder to knock the TV down.

Too cute... Steve and Blue, that in itself brings back memories of a simpler time (a toddler opposed to a TWEEN!)

That was a great use of unused space!

I kinda like the TV in the fireplace! I found your blog through the BlogFrog network and thought I'd pop over and say hi. If you ever have any questions, just let us know! So nice to discover your blog.

Hee hee! Our fireplace here in central TX has never been used. I wonder what Man O Mine would say if I put the tv in it?

my sister has done the same :) I think it is great place for a tv, especially in older homes where the fireplace used to be the center of the home before the tv was invented :)

do you move it Christmas EVE?

Corrine, it's out of there now, replaced by a wood burning stove that Santa crawls through. :')
