Kids Say the Darndest....
So we're in the car.I'm listening to my Pandora App and Garth Brooks is on.
I'm singing loudly to the live version of Friends in Low Places.
K from the back seat says, "mom?"
Yeah?
"Is that seenguh from Tennessee?"
WHAT?!
"Is that seenguh from TENNESSEE, can you heaw me?!"
(laughing) Yes, I heard you.
Why do you ask that question?
"He sounds like a farmer."
A farmer?!
Do you mean he sounds like he sings country music?
"Is Tennessee country music?"
Um, kinda.
"Yes."
(giggle) Where did you hear about Tennessee recently?
"Hannah Montana."
Ah.
It Could be Worse, She Could Love Snakes!
Spring time means outdoors.Outdoors for K means going in the dirt and finding stuff, like snails.
Last year she showed an affinity for the slime-trailing creatures and this year the obsession hasn't waned a bit.
Outdoor weeding brought snails in plain view and K flipped out in a "I love gross stuff!" kind of way.
The collection started small.
Then grew into a creepy bucket-full of gastropods. I had to close my eyes when I took this shot so I wouldn't gag.
By the end of the afternoon, she had them trained to walk tightropes of grass blades.
I think they were trying to escape.
She begged to take the bucket in the house and I screamed, "NOT ON YOUR LIFE!" because ew.
But later in the evening, she said she had a surprise for me. I had all but forgotten about the creepy crawlies when she showed me this caterpillar. "I'll just keep him in my room until he turns into a butterfly!"
Yeah, not!

K isn't speaking in K-lish as much anymore. The downfalls of growing up.
She does say a few cute things like:
"Crash Tan" for trash can.
"Fute nollup" for fruit rollup.
And, conversations with her are never boring!
She clearly knows that Ellen DeGeneres is the voice of Dory from Finding Nemo.
So she asks about all the voices from every cartoon/character now.
Is that Sharpay?
Yes, K, Candace on Phineas and Ferb is Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale).
When we were watching Snow White she says,
Is that Dorothy?
Is what Dorothy?
Snow White!! She sounds like Dorothy from Wizuhd of Oz!
Oh! Her voice sounds like Dorothy. You're right it kinda does.
Is it her? Judy Garland. I have no idea. *googling*
Nope, not her.
Do we watch too much TV? Absolutely.
Does it keep the kids thinking and making analytical associations.
Yes.
TV is homeschool, thank you.
