This Kid Cracks Me Up!

You know how I've always documented my youngest's cute words and sayings?

If not, scroll through the posts labeled K-lish, it's her cute little language, err speech impediments, well...they're super cute.

Now that my girl is less than a month away from her 6th birthday she is still saying THE cutest stuff that puts a smile on my face.

**This morning, she was walking around with a puka shell necklace, you know the ones with the teeny shells, and was putting them up to her ear saying, "ooh, ooh, yep I can hear the ocean.  It sounds little."

**Last night my husband was sacked out on the couch around 8pm per usual (he's a commuter now) and K says, "listen mom, dad's SNORTING!"  Do you mean snoring honey? "oh yah that."

**When watching an upcoming movie trailer involving airplanes/war/bombing she says, "mom, is that about POOL HARPER?!"  Who the what?  "Where we went in Hawaii....pool harper, the sunken boat?"  Ah Pearl Harbor.

**(on a related note) She watched the Ben Affleck movie Pearl Harbor over the holidays with my husband and asked questions incessantly about it!!

**She still says CAH-leats when talking about soccer shoes, which makes DQ laugh.

**Her favorite recent movie is the MUFFETS and wants a MUFFET birthday party.  (Muppets)

**Her favorite song is currently "Forget You" by CeeLo but the Chicken version from the MUFFETS. Bok Bok Bok, bok bok, Bok Bok!

**Something new...well we finally came into the 21st century and bought a Wii for Xmas and well frankly our baby is a sore loser.  She cries if no one lets her win.  I think that's normal. Right?

Just to be clear, at this age My Boy had already been seeing the speech therapist at school, her teacher is not worried in the slightest.

Luckily K just has a cute way about her and is not at risk, in case you were wondering.

I'm Sad and Glad for my Preschool Grad

How does this happen.

I just had my youngest child.

I remember bringing her home from the hospital and my then 7 and 4 year old just doted on her every minute.

She was the chunkiest little thing and now she's a little woman.

A Preschool Graduate.

Going to Kindergarten.

In two short months.

In school all day.

Everyday.

I don't know if I should cheer or cry.

I'll do both.

Remember my K-Lish posts, her baby talk is slowly getting more and more articulate.

My last baby.

Is growing up.

Homeschooing via the Boob Tube

K isn't speaking in K-lish as much anymore.

The downfalls of growing up.

She does say a few cute things like:

"Crash Tan" for trash can.

"Fute nollup" for fruit rollup.

And, conversations with her are never boring!

She clearly knows that Ellen DeGeneres is the voice of Dory from Finding Nemo.

So she asks about all the voices from every cartoon/character now.

Is that Sharpay?

Yes, K, Candace on Phineas and Ferb is Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale).

When we were watching Snow White she says,

Is that Dorothy?

Is what Dorothy?

Snow White!! She sounds like Dorothy from Wizuhd of Oz!

Oh! Her voice sounds like Dorothy. You're right it kinda does.

Is it her? Judy Garland. I have no idea. *googling*

Nope, not her.

Do we watch too much TV? Absolutely.

Does it keep the kids thinking and making analytical associations.

Yes.

TV is homeschool, thank you.

My Girl is a Silly Goose

I swear I need to carry a tape recorder to capture all the funny things K says on a daily basis.

Just now she asked when she was going to a teenager.

We've been talking about how DQ will be 13 on 11/11/2011.

K thinks it's got to be something cool, but truly has no idea what we're talking about.

I answered, "in 9 LONG years honey."

"Ooh I can't wait!" she says.

??

I can, believe me.

Then trying to get her dressed left her long hair a mop and all over her face.

"K, please go get a scruncher for your hair."

5 minutes later...

"MOM! I can't find a scwunchuh!!! All I found is this KNIFE!"

It was a finger nail file.

Oh my girl, the sweet thing that wears her "Dorothy" costume to the baseball field.

She tells her new friend, "I'll be 5 at my next birfday."

"How many more days mom?"

"345 dear."

"Is that a long time?"

It will be here in a blink of an eye.

Lesson 8

If you haven't visited before, this is kinda like a dictionary of terms from my sweet 3.5-year-old. Yes, she may need speech therapy later, but now, it's all cute stuff. Catch up with the other lessons if you'd like!

SooMommy-The Tsunami-A super spinning ride at the Boardwalk that K claims she'll ride when she's "bidder."

Bidder-bigger-older, taller, much more mature.

Kebbul Cohn-kettle corn-The stuff that is stuck to the carpets in our car, and can still be found in our dryer.

Popfikuhs-potstickers-the yumminess we share at lunchtime, except I have to de-wanton them.

Pupcakes-cupcakes-especially with chalkalet frosting!

Tuhn Yer Hed-turn your head-I admit, each time K says, "WOOK mom, watch me" I often say, yeah uh-huh without looking. Now, I'm ordered to actually turn my head and watch.

Surpup-syrup-The girl needs a gallon for every small bite of waffle or pancake.

The Sun's Up!-the sun's up-wha she likes to shout at me while i'm still sleeping in the morning to let me know sleepy-time is over for her!

FuhLaytuh or TooLaytuh-for later...or later-When she realizes she really can't have something right at the moment, like a cookie in the car when there are none. She'll say, "okay mommy, we'll get a cookie fuhlaytuh (toolaytuh)." Um. Okay.

Cydal-recital-everything has been about dancing and the recital of late.

Venebbuh our home?!-remember our home?-K said this to me in Tahoe, since we stayed in a condo, she wanted to remind me we do have our house back home, and not to forget it.

Doughwa Buhgettyo's-Dora Spaghettio's-it has to be Dora style or else.

K-lish, Lesson 8, The F Words

So it's not exactly what you think.

My youngest isn't throwing around the F-bombs that you're imagining.

Yet.

But, my little girl that is now destined for speech therapy like her big brother, is flaunting her discrepancy left and right.

Right now she's replacing some S-words with the F sound.

She calls the movie, The Incredibles, the 'fuper hewo moobee', we say "K say sssssss-uper." And, she says, "ssssss-fuper!"

Alas, it sounds cute, but we do try and correct her as needed.

Fider-spider

Feshul-special

Fuhpwhyz!-surprise

Foe-so

Farkalee-sparkly

Foo mah wo-tomorrow-random f for t swap

Just some more general cute things...

Just GO!-do it,(anything)NOW-whatever she commands from us at any given point she follows up with a Just GO! and that means business!

Mommy Say Yes-I'm allowed-if she's doing something not allowed she follows up a "(insert parent or sibling that ISN'T around) say yes" and it's supposed to cover her butt so she doesn't get in trouble. Mostly occurs with Brother and his Pokemon cards.

You MEAN-you are mean-typical, age-appropriate saying. Repeated multiple times a day when her desired request goes unfulfilled.

All Better Medicine-Gatorade-we menitioned this ONCE when she had the pukes, and now whenever, wherever she sees it she calls it that.

Vehnebbuh dat?-remember-when she sees or recalls something, she has an amazing memory!

Why You No Hear Me?-HELLO, anyone listening?!-sometimes parents (gasp) ignore their children when they are having a tantrum. Or when they repeat a phrase 15 times when you're ignoring their pleas for more chocolate. Like we really can't hear her, she's loud.

And, if you're new here, you can catch up on your K-lish.

Learn to Speak K-lish, Lesson 5

These are just some words my baby K is saying right now at nearly 2 and a half. Her speech is cute right now, but she may be a speech therapy candidate in the future. There's no comedy in speech therapy, My Boy has gone for 2 years now. Just trying to lighten the mood and capture the precious baby talk before I miss it!

Everywhere I go now people are commenting on how well K speaks for her age. The lady at the grocery store obviously doesn't read my blog.
