Learn to Speak K-Lish, Lesson 6

K is still rockin' the cave baby talk. Although I was a bit sad today when she totally said TACO after we left Taco Bell. "Taco?, Tah Coh, taco taco!" It was so cute, but too perfect, ya know?!

Anyway, catch up on some more of her cuteness in the previous installments.

Lesson 1
Lesson 2
Lesson 3
Lesson 4
Lesson 5

Pee buh toe-peanut butter-she is in a major peanut butter stage. She even will just eat it right off a spoon.

Own joos-orange juice-another major drink favorite.

My womb-my room-referring to her new bunk bed she shares with My Boy.

Nye nye quib-crib-she still will whine about laying down in her crib when she's tired, almost knowing that it breaks our heart because we took it down already. The guilt.

Youzik-music-preferrably Hannah Montana when we're in the car.

My hon-gee-I'm hungry-usually for a peebuttoe mommich.

Car un way yuh-star underwear-out of the 12 pairs we have only 4 have stars on them...and she wants to wear those EVERYDAY and won't settle for the others with flowers or stripes or polka-dots.

El pet-elephant-as in 'mommy see el pet wee wee (movie)' and I have NO idea what she's talking about!

No, my self-No, i'll do it by myself-this is a new phase and it pertains to everything. Putting on her shoes, wiping, pulling up her panties, washing her hair...*sigh* everything!

Buhbye-butterfly-referring to the butterfly painted on her face. When she'd rub at it and get paint on her finger she'd say "uh oh buhbye all done."

See bels buttoe!-seatbelts buckled-a phrase from Little Einsteins she says when she buckles herself into the stroller or carseat.

Hi YUR!-higher-when being pushed on the 'big girl' swing

Ah wool-owl-anunciating every bit of it, sticking her tongue out at the "L" sound. I have no idea where this word came from either. I asked, "owl? the bird...hoo hoo?" and she nods and says "YEAH!" Okay.

Precious. I had to write certain things in my children's baby books, cause my mind is slipping and I wanted to be able to remember it.

These are cute. My brother used to say Frucky for Kentucky Fried Chicken. We'd laugh everytime. Even mom, but she curbed him of that REAL quick.

Okay, I see you EVERYWHERE and I just finally had to come over & check you out (why am I just getting around to this NOW, you might be asking? Well, my only excuse is that I just got my kids off to school after a LONG summer!)

Anyway, you always leave nice comments on all the blogs that I've seen you around on and I know that many of my bloggy friends think you're pretty great...anywho...I really moss the baby-talk days (my kids are 8 & 11.) My friends think I'm crazy, but I would go back there in a heart beat (just for a day) if I could. They just grow up too damn fast, don't they?

    Love it!
I also find it sad when a word that they used to flub that was so cute, all of the sudden is said with perfect diction. I guess that is all part of growing up but, oh, to preserve some of those gems would be great.

Those are so cute! YOu have to video her having a conversation with you using those words. I did that when my daughter was 2 and it is hilarious to go back and watch it now that she's older. Even she gets a good laugh at herself :)

Don't you hate the 'no my self' stage when you're in a hurry and trying to get everyone out the door?!

I LOVE it. We still use the cave-talk words that we loved the best ("geeps" for grapes, "petunafish" and "I lah do" (I love you).

That's adorable!!! I love that Ellie is just now starting to talk -- of course, my husband and I are the only ones that can translate. But, it's still cute!

By the way, I love the music player on your blog -- I have found so many new songs to add to my player just by visiting you! ("She's Always A Woman" just got snagged!)

Love the cave baby talk too!! My little one isn't quite 2 1/2 yet and he is a much later talker than my first two. He's getting there though. I just hope it's not too quick! There are just some words I love hearing him say right now.

My older daughter used to say "Oy Oy" for her blanket (it's the sound she made while holding it and had her thumb in her mouth.) My youngest loved "Meh-mo" Elmo!

Thank you for bringing back these sweet memories for me!

Hey Jen! Thanks for shooting me a comment on my mombloggers.com. I love this post. Makes me think of how my sister--who just happens to be 20 years younger than me--couldn't say my name correctly and called me Lodi. That was about 16 years ago. To this day, my entire family calls me Lodi or Lod or Lodmeister or a million other varieties. This is how our dictionary formed. I am sure of it!

I can't express how cute that is! My little girl is 15 months and learning more words daily. Of course, it is jumbled garbage to the untrained ear. ha ha ha. So, cute.

Adorable, and so cool that you wrote this down to mock her with when she is older, hehe.

My daughter is 9 months old and mimics us when we yell for our son from the other room. We say JAKE she says "AJAAAAA"

I so enjoy the K-lish lessons!

MH still calls music "nyu-zick", as in "this is da way to nyu-zick class!" or "I want to listen to Mommy Nyu-zick!" (her current favorite song is Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis - you haven't lived until you've heard the MH sing it verse for verse at the top of her little lungs!)

  37. Rebecca said...

I love your K-Lish lessons, I can just see her little cuteness saying them too! :)

  38. Carol said...

    Can she be any cuter??

Loved 'my womb' so sad when they outgrow this stage and speak properly. It is not nearly so cute or funny.

  39. Miss Lisa said...

Don't ya just love it--it is so cute you don't want to correct them :)

  40. carrie said...

I MISS that my little ones don't talk like that anymore.

Never thought I would, but clearly - I was wrong! That is so cute.
