Bling in Beijing

We've been following Michael-the-Gold Medal-
I'm not dissing, just in awe.
Women's beach volleyball was on too. May and Walsh are studettes. Hubby kept saying, "you can change it if you want."

Me--But what man doesn't enjoy a woman in a swimsuit bouncing around in the sand?
Hubby--Me. They'd kick my a$$ in volleyball...not my type.
Me--So you like the short, non-blond, non-kick-your-ass-in-volleyball types?
Hubby--You got it baby.
I'm so lucky.
Did anyone watch the synchronized diving? Jumping from 3 stories high is normally called suicide, but these guys are amazing.
Seriously though, how much smaller can those Speedos get? Just sayin'.
Can't wait for the medal round oflittle girl's women's gymnastics. My fave.
Can't wait for the medal round of
Are you watching? What sport/which athlete is your favorite?

I'm really enjoying watching the olympics too!
August 12, 2008 at 4:13 AM
Glad to have found your blog via MBC, Jen! Gymnastics is definitely my Olympic sport of choice, but anything with teenie-weenie speedos can't be all bad either, right??
August 12, 2008 at 4:25 AM
I have been watching the Michael Phelps progress toward his 8 medals trying to break Mark Spitz record(who by the way has been throwing royal diva tantrums).
I couldnt believe the 10,000 calories a day!! I think I need to spend 5 or 6 hours in a pool so I can eat all that junk too!!
I am sorry but there is NO WAY some of those little chinese girls are 16. The gov't duckied up the passports or something.
August 12, 2008 at 5:17 AM
Not watching. Can't get into it. Does that made me a bad American? My only Olympics update is when the Google page comes up and I see what event the little pig is doing each day. Ha!
August 12, 2008 at 5:22 AM
I WISH I was a volleyball superstar...but I don't see the need for the teeny tiny little bottoms...why not "tenis" skirts?? Hmmm...I missed most of it I gotta start turning the tv on earlier.
August 12, 2008 at 5:23 AM
I am watching the Olympics...don't have any real favorites. Enjoy watching the mens gymnastics and the volley ball is good too...also the swimming is good too....also looking forward to the women's gymnastics!
August 12, 2008 at 5:39 AM
My favorite event is the last one lol. I've never been an olympics fan.Now if football is ever added, i might change my mind, but for now i just don't get into it.
August 12, 2008 at 5:53 AM
I love the gymnastics! Always have since I was a kid :D
August 12, 2008 at 6:05 AM
Can you even imagine the volume of shaving that goes on in the water sports division!?!?!
August 12, 2008 at 7:05 AM
I haven't watched a lick- I love everyone's recaps so I don't have to watch. My li'l sister is a professional sand volleyball player, you can imagine the men in our family's self- esteem when we play volleyball!
August 12, 2008 at 7:08 AM
I shamefully confess that I have not watched.One.Single. Olympic. Event. I know, I know, I should be tarred and feathered.
August 12, 2008 at 7:54 AM
I've been watching the prime-time coverage...but I missed the opening ceremonies :(
I like watching swimming, diving & gymnastics.
Did you see the mens 4x100 team relay the other night! Unbelievable!
And last night's mens gymnastic team final was great, too! USA did so awesome on their high bar routines!
August 12, 2008 at 7:57 AM
I don't have a fave right now. I was heartbroken for the obstacles of the US Womens Gymnastics team though. They really had to go all out to make their prelim scores.
August 12, 2008 at 8:11 AM
I am watching. Really fun.
Please note that if you think the speedos are small...watch the swimmers after they wear one of those ONE piece suits that go over the top too (men) and pull down the top after the swim. It can be frightening.....
August 12, 2008 at 8:28 AM
Me and hubby watched that too. And did you see that Phelps has to eat 8,000 to 10,000 calories a day? WTF? Maybe I should become a swimmer. LOL
August 12, 2008 at 8:36 AM
I have been enjoying the swimming & gymnastics although I will watch any event that happens to be on! This time around I am loving me some Olympics!
August 12, 2008 at 8:56 AM
I was TOTALLY enjoying the synchronized diving and gymnastics. Tiny as those suits were, I was waiting for one to fall right off in the water...and then naked diving!
August 12, 2008 at 8:58 AM
I'm really into it this year. And that a surprise to me.
Now, do we know what is on Kerri Walsh's shoulder? Henna? Full tattoo?
I've never seen this style, or shape before.
August 12, 2008 at 9:17 AM
I don't get the lack of clothing for beach volleyball either. Why is it so different from indoor volleyball uniforms?
August 12, 2008 at 9:28 AM
Michael Phelps is amazing. Can't wait for the women's gymnastics tonight!!!!!(hope ur feeling better!)
August 12, 2008 at 9:34 AM
I have a mad crush on Michael Phelps. I think he just about the most amazing thing in the water! I also watched the diving...we were good but man China was impressive! Did you see the mens gymnastics last night? Awesome!
August 12, 2008 at 9:48 AM
Phelps loves me.
We had practicaly the same conversations last night. Chris was like, um they would kick my a$$ regarding the vollyball girls
August 12, 2008 at 10:24 AM
LOVING the Olympic eye candy! This is the first year I've gotten into it and I have no regrets!
August 12, 2008 at 12:06 PM
Im an olympic psycho!! You have to read my post on this very subject!!
August 12, 2008 at 1:34 PM
I'm not home much so I'm missing most of it. If I do watch anything, it's diving, gymnastics and sometimes swimming. I have yet to see any.
I confess, part of it is the whole China thing, too. I'm annoyed with it being there, but also by what I've read the last day or two about faked singing and faked fireworks. This doesn't give me much confidence in their honesty.
However, I love supporting and feeling good about our US team doing so well!
August 12, 2008 at 2:20 PM
I am watching it all! I am glued to the tv. I am in awe over them all, amazing group of people at the event this year! I love Michael Phelps, ubber crush on that man, and I think the whole team of the Men's Gymnastic team is adorable! Can't wait to see how the rest of the events pan out!
August 12, 2008 at 6:59 PM
LOVING the Olympics! Obsessed with Phelps! Stayed up until 1 am watching the mens gymnastics, could of won the silver, but it was still amazing to watch. It has all been really great!!
August 12, 2008 at 7:54 PM
I actually haven't been watching at all this year, but when I do watch, the only thing I really enjoy is the swimming and diving.
August 12, 2008 at 9:25 PM
I've gotta watch Phelps because he grew up about 5 minutes from my house. It is so exciting to see him hogging all the gold. The best was when they beat the Frenchies in the relay. I've never been into the Olympics before this year. I'm proud of myself for caring about a sport.

I'm loving the swimming. I haven't seen Dara Torres; did I miss her??
August 13, 2008 at 6:03 AM
Michael Phelps...well, normally men with chins of that size don't do it for me, but now I wanna have all his little supa athlete babies. He is amazing. Shawn Johnson, that girl is a freaking rock. Can she mess up or something? Uh, no. I do find the judging thing quite annoying.
August 13, 2008 at 2:56 PM
Oh, I so love your conversation with your hubby- that is priceless!
August 13, 2008 at 8:06 PM
I dont' watch sports but every 4 years I turn into Olympic Sports Junkie Gal! The men's swimming is amazing and I'm pulling for Michael Phelps to break Mark Spitz's metal record. I thought that Spitz was being a bit of a Diva about it too until I heard that the IOC voted him one of the top 10 Olympians of all time and that China invited all of the living members on that list except Spitz. Hmmm...China not wanting the former US record holder and the possible new US record breaker in the same area to take away from China's Olympic glory? could be....
August 14, 2008 at 2:25 AM
Hubby LOVES the olympics. That's all he's been doing all week. I enjoy the synchronized diving. Wow. I just feel bad for them that they have no lives outside of their sport. Their choice I guess.
August 14, 2008 at 3:11 PM
The synch diving is pretty compelling - WHO thought of that?
