The End of Elementary School.
After today, only five school days left.Five days of elementary school, then it's over.
High school bound.
My oldest will head to Great America theme park this week to celebrate with the eighth grade class.
She will spend her last days with her favorite group of friends, some of which will be heading to different schools in the fall.
Memories of youth behind her as she grows into a young woman.
Scared to start anew.
Excited to start anew.
Sad to miss those friends.
Eager to meet new ones, I think.
Where did the time go?
She just graduated from Kindergarten!
No, wait, that's K.
Now an eighth grade graduate.
Wow.
I'm so proud of my girl.
She's beautiful, smart, and so precious.
I love the woman she's becoming.
I just don't want her to grow up so fast.

Time goes by so fast. I remember my daughter through all that and now she's over 30 with children of her own. And now I get to watch my grandchildren grow-up too.

Oh - what a cute post. Congrats on your daughter's graduation and I hope she has a fulfilling high school experience! About friends going in different directions - the good ones always seem to boomerang back around if not stay closer despite "school" distance - it's amazing how I am still in contact with elementary school friends today - thanks to Facebook (lol).

Such a bittersweet moment; my only one isn't near Kindergarten age, so I can only imagine it being a "bitter" moment in that they are growing up, but a sweet, proud moment at that.

Great post. It's true that time passes so quickly as the kids grow up. Sounds like you're doing a great job raising your daughter!

Time passes by so quickly, in the blink of an eye. It reminds me to slow down and appreciate the small moments, I know we'll never get them back.

First let me just say that your daughter is a very beautiful young lady!! I know exactly what you mean though because not only did my son just graduate from 5th grade this year (moving onto middle school so no more elementary for me) but it's also my daughters last year of high school. I can't believe how fast the time goes and to be going on college visits this summer almost seems surreal like it should be someone else because how could my daughter possibly be old enough to go off to college already?
Treasure each moment you have while they are young because they sure do grow up pretty darn fast and even though you might have a 2 yr old trust me it's going to seem like tomorrow when you're off visiting colleges with them!!!

Lovely! I never had a Kindergarten graduation, and I moved right before my 8th grade year so I missed that one...I was so jealous of my brothers.

It is so, so hard to watch them grow up. Mine is entering the tenth grade in the fall. I know before I blink he'll be off to college.
I have serious anxiety issues thinking about it. The only thing that calms me down at all is knowing and acknowledging that growing up and leaving home means they've been given the opportunity to grow up. Having lost another child at age 11, I need to remind myself my son growing up is a great thing that should be celebrated.
But...I feel what you are saying!

I went through this, this year too. My daughter will be 13 in November and starting middle school in August. I am not ready for her to be a middle school teenager.

One more year for my grandson and it's off to high school for him. Our middle school and high school are in the same school. Gosh they grow up too fast. Heck it was just the other day and I was changing his diapers.
